You've definitely all made your points. I'll be silent regarding anything I'm fed from anyone at the club, but obviously this one is out there now. I probably knew there would be backlash but did it anyway.

I stand by the comments, but I also understand the criticisms and after reading FPs post I felt I'd done wrong.

We're all PAFC supporters here.
That's the thing, we're all here because of the one thing that binds us. So, now that you've been suitably chastised, all is forgiven and we should all move on.

So, how many goals will we thrash the cats by? ;)

If nothing else - this thread will become a hotspot for Wingardwatch, lol.

Wingard chakra alignment status: off by 3 degrees

FYI, chakra alignment is colour based :)

He gets a rough deal here for some reason, seemingly because he's not single handedly winning us games anymore. Point is he doesnt have to.

Think back to 2013 and who else did we have that could win us games? Boak & Schulz. That was about it. Gray was coming back very gingerly from a knee injury and was nowhere the god mode he's been in since. Ever since then others in the side have caught up. Chad doesn't have to be Clutch Wingod every week anymore as we have many other players that can take that pressure off him and deserve opposition attention on their own accord. Boak, R Gray, Watts, Dixon, Ebert, Wines, Motlop, Ryder, Polec even S Gray on his day.

The Chad we have now is as good, as important and as much a match winner as he's ever been. He's not perfect, he sometimes has poor games, but now, a poor Chad game doesnt = definite loss like it used to in the past. Which is the way it should be.

Chad has freely admitted he doesnt necessarily love football. He's not a footy nerd. He doesnt watch other matches at all. He doesnt eat and breathe footy and for most of his career that has been a good thing.

The man is a star and he'll showcase why in finals this year.

Brett Ebert said basically this when he retired. I think this attitude is far more common than some people realise.

Let’s just ignore this topic and speak hypothetically for a second

Say someone has inside info from the club that they might squeeze a player out for whatever reason. What possible ******* good can come from sharing that news publicly on digital / social media other than to whore yourself out for attention?

Do you want to destabilize the club? Do you want to create a PR nightmare when the media starts running with it? Do you want to reduce the clubs bargaining position in any trade?

Assuming the answer to all these things is no? Why post that sort of shit then? It serves no good purpose so FOH with that noise imo.

I agree but to be fair he was given the put up/shut up ultimatum numerous times so we’re all part of this problem in our own way.

In future just tell Chad Cornes to stop feeding you such info and problem solved.

He doesn't want a trade out. He's happy where he is, which is probably a bit of a contributor to the problem.

The issue with that might be not Chad’s output, which is statistically good because of his high natural talent base, but with the effect on others around him who might need to work harder to get to where they could be.

Even Russell Ebert admitted he didn’t take training too seriously in his first few years. Different times but that’s exactly the point. Or points, if you like.

Unfortunately I think the horse has already bolted.

I like to think of Chad as our Toby Greene, sans kung fu antics.

I think 'running him through the midfield' as is so often thrown out there as a feasible option for any mid-sizer who has good skills, is not necessarily his greatest value. His ability to conjure and create goals, sort of like the Messi of our team, is rare and should be where his greatest capital lies.

I like to see him run him through the midfield now and again to break up the monotony and give us another point of difference, but close to goal he is such a weapon. And maybe it better suits his whole football outlook anyway.

I’m totally in the “who gives a shit if Wingard is like that” camp.

But if he wants he could set up a weights routine in front of the Fox changeroom cameras before the game and get his rig out to show his dedication. That’d totally swing opinions around on his attitude.
