I'd play McKernan. He's had a quiet start to the year but is a real, real talent. This is the sort of selection that can take us forward as a side. Going back to the well for these players who lack intensity and desire is not the way to do it. Smack all the way.

What's his SANFL form like? Because he wasn't up to it in the NAB Challenge games. I wouldn't be considering him before a halfway-point review of his SANFL form without dire injury and form circumstances in front of him first.

On 5AA they mentioned Goody and even VB will be fine to go, and Knights to come back in this week. So I guess Sellar goes out for either Griffin or Smack.

There must have been some doubt over him against Freo as well, because someone on here said he didn't train with the main group leading up to that game (IIRC) and that's probably why they took Maric over.

Hey, an actual reason why Maric travelled :) I didn't think of that. Best excuse I've heard so far...

NTRabbit - Unfortunately, you're correct, neither his NAB Cup nor his SANFL form warrants his selection. Not that Griffin has been much better (and hasn't had an SANFL match to show us either way if he would outperform McKernan) but at the moment he has a couple more runs on the board than McKernan.

Hopefully McKernan recognises what a massive opportunity he has with all these injuries and tries his guts out.

Griffen may not come straight back in, Melbourne have been playing with 1 recognised ruckman with Newton providing support

The crows could possibly go with Maric only with Steven's opposed to Newton

That's just the point though stabby. McKernan's SANFL form has been average, but the club knows his talent goes above and beyond. We've got one bloke who doesn't want it, and another with talent to burn, but he has been a little flat at SANFL level. Let's make an allowance and back the talent, get some crucial investment time in.

What is going on with Symes and Moran?? Has the club mentioned anything about these guys recently?

That's about 10 of our best 22 imo.

Fingers crossed on Danger and Tippett. I'd expect Tippett to be rested given his tendonitis concerns in addition to the ankle.

EDIT: Just noticed Johncock is back to a test already. Promising

Im finding it very hard to believe that hentschel will be out for 1 week... The whole indefinite thing is starting to give me the shits! i mean give it a wide rnage if your not sure like 4-8 weeks- hell even 4-10!!!

Weren't we just recently told that Symes was looking at a Round 9 return in the SANFL, but he's still listed as indefinite

I don't expect Mackay or Knights to be back this week, but its nice to see "test" against Sloane's name.

Sloane was listed as 3 weeks this time last week. I'd be moderately surprised if he passes his fitness test this time around.

There's a rumor that Taylor Walker broke a toe while playing in the Norwood vs Sturt match.

If the rumour were true then it would have been reported on the AFC website by now and would be included in the AFL's injury update for the round. Someone was having a lend of us.

Jacky should realise that all that offensive running isn't good for his hamstrings:p

But seriously, why was he offered a 2 year contract?

So we could surgically remove his hamstrings and keep them in reserve in case Dangerfield ever burns his out.

Don't worry, once the 2-4 week recovery period is up, we'll remove the other one :D

You can add Bernie Vince to that list as well, his injury brings us back up to 14 again - we just can't seem to shorten the list. :(

The good news is that we have 5 players listed as "test" - Johncock, Knights, Mackay, Symes & Talia. How many will pass their test? Your guess is as good as mine.

The club seem to be taking their time working out the extent of Thompson's injury. He injured himself last Friday and he's still listed as "TBC" as of today.
