IAN Perrie could play his first pre-season game for Adelaide this weekend.

The hard-working key forward has been given the green light to resume full training after a hamstring injury and could be rushed into the side to play Fremantle in the NAB Regional Challenge match at AAMI Stadium at 7pm on Friday.
"Assuming he gets through a full week of training, he should be available," Crows physical performance manager Stephen Schwerdt said.

Midfielder Jason Porplyzia (minor soreness) should also be available after missing the past two trial matches against Melbourne and West Coast.

Ken McGregor (Achilles), who hasn't played a pre-season game, is an outside chance to play against the Dockers while Luke Jericho, recuperating from a shoulder reconstruction, is poised to end his long stint on the sidelines by returning through the SANFL with West Adelaide on the weekend.

Captain Mark Ricciuto (back) remains on track to play in round one for Adelaide against Essendon at AAMI Stadium, despite not seeing any pre-season action.

Crows' injury list said:
- Rhett Biglands (knee) season, Bryce Campbell (ankle) 6 weeks, Nick Gill (hamstring) TBC, Trent Hentschel (knee) season, John Hinge (thumb) 3-4 weeks, Luke Jericho (shoulder) available, Ivan Maric (hip) 8 weeks, Ken McGregor (Achilles) TBC, John Meesen (knee) 12 weeks, Ian Perrie (hamstring) available, Jason Porplyzia (knee) available, Mark Ricciuto (back) TBC

McGregor return delayed

Ken McGregor will be kept off the training track for four weeks in an attempt to solve his Achilles tendon problem.

Crows physical performance manager Stephen Schwerdt said McGregor would be restricted to non-impact training for the next month.

“Ken has some tendonitis in the Achilles,” Schwerdt said. “We tried a couple of weeks of rest followed by some training but there was still some soreness so we will back off for about a month and he can swim and ride the bike.”

Adelaide remains unsure when captain Mark Ricciuto will be ready to return to full training.

Ricciuto, troubled by a back injury from early February, resumed running early this month but will not advance to football drills until he is pain free.

“We will continue to take a cautious approach with Mark,” Schwerdt said. “There is no deadline for him to return but before he plays he will need to complete at least a week, probably two weeks, of full-on competitive training.

“Obviously the first game is now less than three weeks away but we are not going to force him to get out on to the track for that if he is not ready.”

Forward Ian Perrie, who has not played since jagging a hamstring in the trial game against Norwood on February 16, will return to full training on Tuesday evening and hopes to be ready to play this weekend.

Jason Porplyzia is also ready to play after missing the past two games to rest a sore knee.

What's with all the players suddenly suffering from tendonitis.

Within the past 24 hours we have a report in The Ragvertiser that Nick Gill is suffering tendonitis of the hamstring (hot on the heals of Ricciuto who also suffered tendonitis at the other end of the hammie), now we have Kenny MacGregor suffering tendonitis of the achilles.

Any idea why we seem to be suffering a rash of (related?) injuries?

Are any of our players actually recovering? Meesen had surgery two weeks ago, and he’s still listed as 12 weeks. Maric also had surgery a week or two ago, and he’s still 8 weeks. And Bryce Campbell is still 6 weeks away, and you know that’s being generous. This is an absolute joke, the players don’t seem to be getting any healthier and we have so many long term injuries.

And now McGregor is out for a month, not that he’s any good though. And there’s no way in the world Ricciuto will play against Essendon.

from Craig last night Drummond

Maric & Meesen due back around week 6
Roo is responding well to the new treatment and as it is a back injury a time line can't be put on it. Round 1 is definitely out for him but depending on when he can get back to training, then it will be two weeks of training and then he can play if it all goes ok.
Campbell was about round 2 or 3 I think.

Well, that's certainly good news. Based on that you would assume Meesen is recovering quite well, and likewise with Campbell. Thanks for the update. :)

I saw Mark Ricciuto at Crows Member's day today, he appears to be limping slightly...something to do with his back problem I would assume.

I heard on the news that Roo has done a disc in.. If so, there is no actual treatment for this injury.. take it from someone that has damaged 2 discs at work.. once one goes, you place more pressure on others and therefore you are more than likely to damage more.

Even though Im no fan of your team, having a bad back due to damaging discs I know what he is going through
