Bode - leg
Was at the fence in thongs and would be another week

McGregor - Achilles - 3 to 4 weeks (Round 5 or 6)
Maric - hip flexor - 8 weeks - ready Round 6
Both were included in todays training and looked flexible and ok.. especially at the end when Ivan hit the marking dummy hard and bent awkwardly and got up ok. Ken looked, well Kennish.. slow but methodical..can see round 5 definitely

Ricciuto - disk related back injury - indefinite - who the **** knows
Biglands - knee - season
They were both out the back on Max Basheer Reserve and the papers today said 2-3 weeks for Roo

It would be great to have Ivan and Kenny back playing games, both will come through the SANFL I'd imagine... Kenny a slight chance to jump straight into the Crows side. Griffen has been great so far but to have Maric come into a bit of form with the Magpies (not too much though) would at least put pressure on and give us another option/backup. Griff might not be ready to play a whole season in the ruck yet so he could come out for Ivan at some stage, who knows.

Once again on training today, my mail was that Kenny trained strongly and could be right in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks max.

GLENELG-based forward James Sellar is the latest Adelaide player to be struck down by the curse of being an AFL first-round draft pick at West Lakes.

Sellar, 18, is out of training after reporting a groin injury. Crows coach Neil Craig yesterday dismissed suggestions the tall forward - claimed at No. 14 in last year's AFL draft - had osteitis pubis, an ailment that can put a player on the sidelines for several months.
"It's not osteitis pubis but it is groin soreness," Craig said of Sellar, who last week played in Glenelg's SANFL league side against Sturt.

"And that's not unusual for a young lad. His attitude to his training has been first-class," added Craig, who in the pre-season challenged Sellar to lift his workrate at training to a more demanding AFL standard.

"So he's a bit sore."

Craig said Sellar would be on the Adelaide injury list for as many as three weeks before being sent back to play for Glenelg.

"He now gets an opportunity to develop really good 'rehab' skills," Craig said at West Lakes.

Sellar was not named on Adelaide's 16-man injury list when it was released on Monday afternoon.

If it walks like OP, and Quacks like OP.................

That's if they all recover and we stay injury free for the next few weeks:thumbsu:

Anyone think Kenny McG will get a game if he's fit?

I don't think he'll squeeze in, unless he's doing super well in the SANFL.

He would be useful to allow Marty 'it doesn't' Mattner to play more up the ground without the responsibility of playing as the third defender. Also if one of Perrie or Stevens is having a bad day he can also be thrown forward. Needs at least two SANFL games first IMHO.

BTW remember it was not too long ago that Kenny was our next captain;)

Aye, our preferred forward line seems to be a 3-tall forward set up, with mediums in Burton, Welsh and a small (Bode when fit) buzzing around. For the last 3 games, Rutten has been the only true tall in our backlines. Bassett and Mattner have been playing on the oppositions CHF and giving up a fair bit of height in some cases. We've won out in all 3 cases, but it would be handy to be able to have either Stevens, McGregor or Bock playing CHB, whilst still allowing the other two, plus Welsh and Perrie to play up forward. Not sure who he'd replace though. Perhaps Porplyzia, with Mattner playing further up the ground in his place. But yeah, depends on the opposition. We can get away with a shorter backline against most opponents, thanks to our gameplan, but we really do need another tall back there against sides like St. Kilda, and I'm sure we'd rather not do it at the expense of our forward line, which is fuctioning quite well as it is.

I like the idea of Mcgregor on the bench, he gives us that flexibility up forward and down back. Would have been handy against Pavlich this week.

I don't think Kenny would be a first choice CHB under Craig. Craigy likes his defenders to be creators and attack from defence. Move the ball forward quickly and create opportunities. Thats not Kenny's game. He is a stay at home, battle it out CHB and his ability to rebounds out of defence quickly is questionable. Quite often he takes too long to move the ball forward, allowing opposition to get the numbers back.

I think his best position is deep, stay at home FF or a negating CHB.

Hate to remind you Stiffy but didn't you say Kenny was an indespensible member of the squad and an AA CHB if allowed to be.

I'm not stirring .......well I guess Iam ;) .........but I cop alot for my views on Kenny and a few others.

He's going to struggle ......Tippett is very good and certainly forward material .... better marking than Kenny, quicker and with an attack on the ball similar to Benny Hudson.

We know Sellar is going to be OK .........it's still to be determined whether that'll be CHF or CHB .......won't surprise me if it's the latter as he still plays as a ruckman than a KPP and not sure he has natural forward instincts ......I'll reserve judgement.

Then we have Griffin and Perrie who are IMO going to be in front of him UNLESS Kenny plays to 100% of his potential each week.

Kenny's certainly capable of playing great footy ......I'm just not convinced he can back it up week after week???

Very reminiscent of the smug "Well, well, well, well" thread that blew up in it's author's face the very next week.

Time will tell if you've prematurely ejeculated as well. :)
