AFC rate Perrie as an automatic selection in their XXII. I can't say I disagree with them.

Thats cool, but who are you going to omit to fit Pez in?

There is no way he can offer what Kenny does, Welsh is an entirely different player (not to mention our leading goal kicker), and Bock just won a Sony Bravia from Robert Walls for B.O.G.

Who gets the heave-ho?

(Just as an aside - it always sticks in my mind that when we were at our very best last year, Perrie was out injured)

For my money, Perrie can stay at North.

The forward line seems to have been functioning better since KMac returned. He gives us a real contested marking option deep in the forward line, something which we lack when Perrie is running his opponent around 60m out from goal. With Perrie in, we have too many "mark on the lead" type players, but not enough who can stand under a long bomb and take a strong grab. It's a matter of team balance.

KMac also offers something else that Perrie lacks - the ability to put the ball through the big sticks. KMac has kicked 5.1 in two games (spending the first half of the Geelong game in defence), to Perrie's 15.9 from 10 games. That means KMac is averaging 1 more goal per game, despite having spent less time up forward.

Then again, that's just my opinion - and I'm not a team selector!

Why would you want to squeeze Perrie for the sake of it when the forward line would have to be reshuffled and possibly/probably return to its former shambles simply because Ian cannot play more than one role. I dont want to start an(other) Ian Perrie bashing thread because flying spaghetti monster knows (wikipedia it if you need to:p) he's had enough of them. But Fair dinkum if we drop K-Mac for the Pez dispenser I will scream.

There is no way Ken will get dropped. Calm down.
Sorry, I dont think he will either but I thought he should have gotten a game in the first place so I just dont understand the selectors Perrie/Kenny decisions at all. Perrie will do well in the SANFL due to his size, (if he doesnt come in for Stevens/injured Bock) Im not sure whether this is a true indication of what his AFL form would be.

Not sure where you get that Perrie statement from. He has struggled more often than not with North because it's a completely different style of play. He likes to lead out and get hit on the chest while the SANFL is more man on man footy and there are more pack situations. He is much better with the Crows.

To be fair I havnt seen much of Sarge in the SANFL and you'd obviously see more of him at the Roosters but (maybe its a fluke but) whenever I have seemed to see him playing for North (very rarely) he seems to be doing alright (not outstanding) but significantly due to his larger body compared to the typical SANFL build. Just a rough impression that I got.

There's a report in today's Hun/Age (can't recall which yet) that Ken McGregor has a dodgy knee and is in doubt for your game against the Eagles.

Any truth to that?

Fantasy footy purposes lead me to this question.

Similar reports over this side. Questions over Bock as well, with Perrie a certainty to miss. May lead to Gill or Sellar being called up for his first AFL game. Or maybe even a radical move like Maric coming in to ruck, with Griff playing as a forward OR a tall defender coming (McIntyre) and Stevens going to the forward line. Its all a bit uncertain at the moment.

Im sorry but do you seriously have Kenny Mac in your Dream Team? This is coming from me, I mean my team is called the Ken McGregor FC and I dont have him! not before his inevitable price drop from 240k anyway. And yes he is in some doubt but should come up.

Fantasy footy is different from dream team - I don't actually play dream team.

Fantasy footy is run on a draft, so all 16 teams (in my comp) draft their players before the season begins. We can trade up until finals time.

McGregor was one of my late picks. Also have Scott Thompson. :thumbsu:

You serious?

What the hell is going on with him!?!

I think we've all been fooled by seeing his name in the 22 for the Kangaroos game, which was ridiculous. I remember when he did it vs Geelong, after the match they said "it's a 5-week injury". So it will be 5 weeks next week and he should be ready for the St Kilda game.
