Whenever I open WinMx lately, the server doesn't work and it says 'stopped'. Hence I cannot download songs.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? Or maybe an idea for a new music downloading programme?

Someeeonneeee please help.

WinMX used to work perfectly. Since i've downloaded 3.3 i can't connect properly meaning that i cannot get anything!! What's up with it???

Kazza doesn't work on Optus Cable, bastards have speed capped it to stop leeching
Get Kazaa lite 2 and change the incoming port to 1225 (it's in options) watch the speeds it gets then on Optus Cable thats what i'm running at getting 190 k/s

Ewok, should I get cable then? Which ASDL plan is the best you reckon?

I'd get ADSL as you will own the modem after your contract and you can then move around to any ADSL company you want with your fully owned ADSL modem, while on cable you are limited to only Optus & Telstra both who have crappy 3GB a month plans and nobody else is going to lay more cable while new ADSL companies are popping up every month

All depends on how much of a leecher you are?

If I was getting rid of my Optus Cable today I'd go for the iinet Blink 512 plan (and I will when my Optus contract is up in April if they still have their ****ed 3GB plan)

http://www.iinet.net.au/products/broadband/home/

iinet -

3GB usage then limited to a set 56k after the original 3GB is chewed up
Free FTP
Free Uploads
Free P2P within same state network
But the biggy they have is that between midnight and 7am all downloads are free and don't count towards their 3GB monthly cap, so you can just queue all yor pr0n and warez to d/l during the night

There is a Telstra site to check whether you telephone exchange is ADSL ready and how many spare slots there are, but surprise surprise it's down

Was just looking at that one, the 2gb plan. I did that ADSL check last night, it worked! :D

Before you sign up to the iinet blink plans, you might want to check http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-threads.cfm?f=72

Aparentally some of iinets customers in Victoria and New South Wales have been experiencing huge drops in speeds during the "free" blinktime. Some people have even said that their speed drops to below normal 56k modem speeds. I just got my Blink 512 plan in WA and there don't seem to be any problems during blinktime over here though.
