Summer, easily. Especially with the summer that is approaching. Finish VCE, schoolies, Falls Festival, beach and bbq's...

That said, winter has skiing going for it. Although there aren't too many more reedeeming features, simply cannot stand getting out of bed and being greeted with the bitter cold.

valid point, that must be the worst thing about winter. early starts when its pitch black and soo cold

I prefer winter. I can't stand the heat, but I don't mind the cold so much. At least you can dress appropriately in winter to rug up and escape the cold, but there's no escaping the heat in summer unless you stay indoors.

If I had a choice between living somewhere extremely hot and somewhere extremely cold, with no possibility of choosing something in the middle, then I'd choose the latter.

Definitely Winter. Winters in Perth aren't too bad, you still get plenty of nice fine days in the low 20s and a bit of variety with some cold wet weather. Love the footy too.

Summer here is unbearable, pretty much stays over 30 for about 3 or 4 months straight with hardly any rain and heatwaves of 35 plus. Anything above 35 is almost too hot to do anything and if you don't have air con then sleeping is difficult. TV is shit and there are flies, spiders and mozzies everywhere.

The only good things about summer is cricket, the beach, barbies and perving on chicks in skimpy clothing. Still doesn't make up for the shit aspects of summer though.

Winter any time. Don't mind the cold, but ****ing hate the heat. Though I think in Europe, most people would have it the other way around. Winters too cold, with almost perfect summers. A summer where it rarely gets higher than 30 degrees would be brilliant (though I'd say it would be the equivalent to our spring) .

But the point that it is a lot easier to warm up than cool down is true. Don't want any bastard with an air conditioner to say otherwise :D

Summed it up quite well. Perth summers are shit, day after day of 30+ degree temperatures and clear skies. Oh, I forgot about the flies

Summer is something that is far too hyped up. It is almost unbearably uncomfortable, and I hate beaches (during a summer day anyway) and barbies, so yeah, not a good time of year for me.

Was 35 degrees on Wednesday, and was over the heat after one day.

Yeah it is pretty much the exact opposite there, winters in the UK are relentlessly cold, rainy and grim for 3 or 4 months with hardly any sun. Summers there and in Europe are great though, you really appreciate the warm sunny weather after going through a long cold winter and it doesn't get too hot.

I actually didn't mind the winters there either but it might be different if I lived there permanently.

If i'm on holiday i love the weather hot. Beach all day, cold beers in the arvo and lounging around in boardies.

When i'm at work i hate it. Flies. Sweat. Sunscreen constantly applied. More sweat. Flies in your eyes. Tired as ****. Drinking multiple gallons of water. Dry .. dead by lunchtime.

But i also hate rain for work. 20 degrees and sunny is PERFECT for work.

That really is nothing compared to a summer in the Goldfields or even the Pilbara. Two to three weeks of 40+ summer days and the flies are a hundred times worse. Perth summers are a picnic in comparison.

Prefer Summer.
Change of season is the worst. ****ing Hay fever. If it stayed one season and smoothly transitions to the next, i'd be content. Just wish that I wouldn't have to go through with those few weeks with tissues falling out of my pocket.

I think it would be fascinating to go through a European winter, but after a few years, most would get fairly tired of it. Not sure if I would though, but without experiencing it, I would bet that I would prefer it over our crappy summers at the very least.

Once you see snow once, you've seen it enough as far as I am concerned.

I much prefer summer. Winter here, even in the south in Atlanta, are just too bloody cold. You have to deal with sleet, snow, even the occasional ice rain, which is just nasty. The cold just sets in your bones. I can't imagine what it's like on the plains (places like Minnesota, the Dakotas etc). I couldn't hack that.

Winter for me. I enjoy cold weather with single figure maximums. Last summer it was wonderful to get away from the relentless 35 plus maximums in Perth and enjoy three months of a cold Chinese winter. I enjoyed the snow and the cold winter nights where I could sleep in until 10 or 11 in the morning.

Weather over 35 degrees for three and a half months is ridiculous. And 20 degree nights, cannot sleep properly in that weather without an aircon. :thumbsd:

20-28 degree summer weather however:thumbsu:.
In fact the best weather in Perth is during the months of April and September. Temperatures regualrly in the low to mid 20s and barely a rainy day.

But I still prefer the cold weather of winter.

Hate the cold, 35 degrees plus is when I'm at my best.

Winter (Perth) = Shittest Place in Australia

Summer (Perth) = Best city in the world

20 degree + nights are the worst. Worse than a really hot daytime maximum. Just not fun having to get to sleep in that at all.

Atleast you can warm up when it's cold, but it's so hard to cool down when you're hot.

Strong disagree. Impossible to do excercise outside in winter as your constantly adjusting your clothing to suit the conditions. And you always end up overheating when wearing too many layers and in general are always uncomfortable.
If it's too hot in summer those of us with god like aesthetics can just wear some boardies and no t-shirt and let the chicks admire my gains.

This.

winter sucks but footy makes it bearable

Yeah I can imagine snow would be a pain in the arse. I remember when I was in Washington DC in winter there was a massive snowstorm with snow about 3 or 4 feet deep, you basically couldn't go anywhere for a few days. Had to wait for snow ploughs to clear the roads so you could drive. I thought it was pretty cool since I hadn't really seen snow like that before but putting up with that constantly wouldn't be much fun.

In the UK it doesn't really snow much though, not in London anyway. Just rains mostly with maybe the odd bit of sleet or snow occasionally.
