Delisted 25: Flynn Kroeger (2021 - 2023)

183cm 85kgs
I think he's a back flanker, probably a Josh hunt style, but I haven't seen footage and can't really say. Just guessing. Or he is a midfielder, dunno tbh.

That is not Flynn btw, the photo is another player.
Kroeger was #32.

Very difficult. Could seriously be anything.
Hope he does not specialise in the rehab room. Covid issues certainly prevented us seeing his productivity.
I am seriously happy we have him, but do not want to get high hopes after our last ER selection.
Played only 4-5 games in 2 seasons and was near BOG in 3 of them!
Powerful beast of an athlete for his age.
Can see him as a tough hard running HBF, replacing Clark but with some hunger for the ball when he doesn't have it.
Could also play centre.

I agree hope unlike parsons who showed flashes early then faded out that he kicks on. Can you shed any more light on his injuries and whether hes fit now? From the limited highlights ive seen he seems to have real burst speed but also be pretty smart overhead and good kicking..is that a fair assessment as to his player type?

As said before, I've hardly seen him, but ER manager highly rates him, and is a Bomber supporter, and really wanted them to select him. He describes him as powerful, with explosive speed and athletic. I am not sure about his injuries. He has a very strong build, but will clearly need to develop into his body and get resilience.
None of these recruits are anywhere near the finished product. Maybe Hodge was one who revealed exactly what he could be when he was that age.
Dare I say it, but his style has been likened to Dangerfield. Very explosive, strong, great overhead, quick.

Can you imagine if Shifter just once went "he's a bit lazy and doesn't really have the skills to make it at the highest level. At best a flaky downhill skier"?

I'd laugh...
I was just waiting for him to say "nah, don't rate him" as Tom Morris asked him after every pick if he likes it. The best you got from him was when he'd say he was happy for the kid and didn't expect him to go that early.

Yes....if he turns out a star Turbocat won't let us forget who nominated him...... :thumbsu:

Id say he is a chance. body shapw. Kicking ability and power.

Amazing the body shapes we have added , even today OD . Make me think we have moved from being over tall, and having an air born game, trying to intercept to more of a ground ball game. A few of these guys look like footy versions of John Derre's .. once we get them into a pro environment we might just get a wells special out of one of them.

Not ever selection can work

A few of these kids like like they would rather run thru than around.

Irrelevant imho.
I like that he can play the game as it should be played.

If you cant run, if you have not got enough speed or enough stamina to run out 15k's a game you cant play the way the game should be played 2020's

..that why they measure it in the combine ... but thats only my humble opinion.

Id presume the club like what he does or they would not have picked him. Its now how he does in preseason. He has a chance and it all up to him now.

I heard that he was a good kick via rookie central, but holy hell, he might be as good as Zac Taylor.

There is some serious Zac Merrett/Mitch Duncan/GAJ/Caleb Daniel about the way he kicks - with that stabbing/spearing kick.

Some seriously good highlights in such a short clip. Also physically ready to go - so it makes it that much better when assessing the rest of his game.

Parso was elite at both those running parameters and more. As was Murdoch. But not everything in pure footy terms can be measured. Look at Luke Hodge and Jimmy Bartel- they would not have had elite running results in any aspect, yet were brilliant and resilient players.
Btw, I still think Parso has ability. Just that he seemed to lose confidence in our system.

I can only summarise by using the words of his ER team manager- "this kid could could be anything"

Don't think its Dangerfield. More like a Josh Hunt.
