Obviously we could not afford or be able to trade for both.

Headland would cost us two first round Draft picks. One of which we used on Chick. In light of this I can see the that we have more chance of getting Woewodin. I reckon he is a terrific player and would love to have him.

If we go after two first round Draft picks we would have to give up many of our players for it. I reckon go for Woewodin. Even if it means leaving Dessie to the Dockers.

GO EAGLES!

Agreed

Question, do we HAVE to take woewoddin on his current 500k a year contract? if so we can't afford him!

I think by law WC would have to agree to pay the same amount that he is currently contracted to, but Woewodin can agree to play for less. I'm also pretty sure that by law if WC pays him $300k, Melbourne has to chip in the remaining $200k since they are breaking his contract.

I did contractual law last semester, but a situation like this never came up. Would be interesting to hear what the law on this is.

I don't think we will get Headland unless we give up someone like Wirrpunda. Apparently Melbourne may be prepared to pay some of Woewodin's contract. Woewodin if he came to the club would play on the wing. This means we could release Chad Fletcher who has some trade value. West Coast should look at trading players like Chad Fletcher, Andrew Williams, Michael Braun, Callum Chambers and Andrew Embley for a first round draft pick which can be ontraded to Melbourne for Woewodin. Perhaps two or three could be packaged to get a late first round draft pick.

I luv west coast -Wow, I think you seriously overvalue Woewodin if you would consider trading two or three of those players for him. I would offer our second pick (number 26 or whatever - and leave it at that. We have more than enough midfielders. I think he is the most average player to ever win a Brownlow. He received votes in the last game of the year when Melbourne played us and he barely touched the ball. I'm not saying he is a dud - but he is certainly not worth that trade. (If you want to trade two or three players then how about: Carroll, Harding and Lynch. I could live with that.)

I agree with that whole post....except for the Lynch bit, he must not be traded.

I think you guys really overvalue some of our players. Woewodin is a better player than all of those I listed. If you don't believe that your bias is really showing through.
