I hope Bomber plays him often. Love the Dashs. Combined with Byrnesy and DJ we have a reasonably good dash side for future uses. Could be handy when dealing with the slower teams.

Won't be helpful when Byrnes is wasteful once again.

Easy fix.. Play J.Hunt on him like most other games and he won't get a touch. Hunt would be close to Davey's straight line pace, no one can match Davey's turning ability. DJ is too slow, plain and simple. Thompson wouldn't risk playing Wojcinski on Davey, far too risky due to Wojcinski's unaccountble past... same goes for Tenace and Byrnes.. those guys aren't defenders anyway. People don't give enough credit to the real defenders.. very hard position.

I saw our practise match against Melbourne pre-season and surprisingly enough Tenace played on Davey in defence. Equally surprising was he beat him pointless.

Perhaps Thompson wants Hunt as option A and Tenace as backup for Option B. That way Wocjinski is still free to create play from half back.

Playing Wojcinski on Davey would be a foolish move. Wojcinski has his good points, being accountable isn't one of them.

Played pretty well in Round 6 last year. Actually willed them over the line as we lead for most of the match.

Can't recall Round 21 last season. Probably had a good first half when Melbourne smashed us.

Yep. Tore us a new one in the second quarter in Rd21, if I remember rightly. Was quiet in the 2nd half when we stormed home all over them.

DJ is in but Tenace is not, so I'm guessing one of DJ or Hunt will take Davey, with the other as a back up option.


Oh, and Woja is an absolute gun at the moment - would love to have three or four of him - and should not play on Davey.

I hope it is mate, because honest to God if someone tried to put Byrnes into a tagging role, I'd slap them in the face.

The kid is about 4 foot tall, cant mark overhead and has never had to play defensively in his life. Admittedly the kid is a mess, his only saving graces are that he can kick 50m+ and is really really fast.

Exactly... You can't think to put Byrnes on Davey just because he's fast. There is a lot more to being a good defender than some people realise. Wojcinski is in the same category as Byrnes in this respect.

From memory it was Hawkins who played on and kicked a goal, unless I'm thinking of a different passage of play.
