Before i start here i should say that i think women are just as good at driving as men, if not better.

Now that is out of the way, why are women so bad at parking cars in busy shopping center car parks? Why do they insist on choosing the most difficult space possible to drive in and out of when there are much more accomodating spaces just 20 meters away? Why are they so bad at assessing the traffic flow in a car park and identifying the best areas to park? Is there a particular section of the brain that generates the specific task of evaluating a good spot? If so, why were only the men born with it?

Thats a fairly big generalisation there. I was actually watching a number of people trying to parallel park outside our place on the weekend and it was the guys who were having the most trouble with it (oh yeah I was bored and doing an assignment so that explains the lack of life shown!)

Perhaps you're judgement of it being females who are so bad has something to do with the fact that at a shopping centre - 75% of the people there are actually females :D

The other reason may be that females in general are a lot more cautious when it comes to driving.

As for me - I have no probs parking in my little Festiva :D

But then again, I don't drive like an ordinary female either......

Hmmmmmm starting to worry now - I don't drink chicks beer, I get called riff raff for drinking VB - etc etc

It was a generalisation, i admit. I am just talking from experience of being a passenger in cars with women driving and looking for spaces. I have nearly trained Mrs Pornstar to an acceptable level of parking savvy, but it is a never ending struggle.

Sexist Observation No.2:

What the friggen hell is it with women and prams?

They have a tendancy to go shopping at peak periods of the day and in my opinion intentionally go at 30 degree angles to the rest of the pedestrian traffic.

Not to mention the fact that they will park at right angles in the middle of the busiest walkway and will ride over your feet to get a one step better position on an escalator. Never, EVER get in their way!!!

Is there a hormone released after child-birth that make chicks completely ruthless and logistically ignorant?!?

Whenever me and my mate have a break from study we go downstairs and ge a drink or whatever and watch the paralel parking. We made a game of it where we rate the park...you HAVE to get a 1 - as that is turning off the engine lol.
But i would say the females are the worst...they on average would rate between 3 and a 4 while the makes generally rate between a 6 and a 7.

I dunno why this is. But just about every female we've seen park there just cannot park, they always turn to straighten the car too late so they hit the curb...they move forward a bit to try again but dont turn the wheel so they hit the kurb again when they reverse.

Quite strange - but generally quite true.

No offence to old people - but they in my view are the worst. The over 60 bracket are shocking drivers.....not only do they not look in the mirrors or anything, they only drive as high as 45 km an hour which is very frustrating getting stuck behind one.

My family lives in a very "woggy" area (no racism intended) - lots of romanians and greeks around here....and those romanian old drivers in their valiants and old escorts are deplorable...they go about 35 km hour max.

In conclusion - i prefer female drivers to old drivers!

Have you trained her to drive like most men? To tail gate and not bother using indicators?

Can one of you guys please remind me why insurance policies are cheaper for females???
I can only put it down to blatant discrimination on the part of insurance companies :D

NOPE - try again :D

I believe it is because more men drive cars than women (in terms of average hours spent driving) and thus, if an equal ratio (for men and women) is applied with accidents compared to hours driven, women would be involved in fewer accidents in terms of the number of accidents only.

Actually FIG I agree with you. Women with prams is one of my biggest peeves. Especially in supermarkets or in the middle of the city during lunch hours. What the hell happens to women when they get behind a pram? They seem to lose control of their senses.

Here is a sexist observation for you.

What is it with men when they get on public transport - train, tram, bus whatever? Why do they always sit with their legs so far apart that there is hardly any room left on the seat? And please don't try and tell me the obvious!

Haa haa - or why do they have to pick their nose and then touch the nearest handrail, door etc etc?

One that bugs me about women in carparks. If they're driving and the place is busy, they'd rather circle the bloody place for 15 minutes looking for that carpark closer to the door rather than drive straight to a parking spot that involves and extra 2 minute walk. Go figure.

That may be a generalistion, but in my experience, every woman I have been in this situation with has done the same thing.

As my dad said, "mate, women are a different species". :D

Another good one an old guy from work told me "If you want to avoid 'pleasant' conversation with strangers on buses, have several schooners before you get on". :D

Im not sure about everywere else, but up here Asians are the worst drivers. (No offence to any asians on the board)

They just seem to have no idea when they are driving. Don't indicate, drive slow, you name it....
