If anyone has photos of Footscray, South Melbourne, Carlton, etc Women's teams from the late 1940s I would be keen to see them. Also if anyone knows whether these matches official club events or not. I know that the VFL players acted as coaches and that they trained on the Legaue grounds.

I have completed a search through trove of Women's Football matches from WW1 to 1956. I have listed the matches in a table on my website. (I found over 150 matches and around 70+ photos)
See: http://boylesfootballphotos.net.au/Womens Football - Overview
If anyone has an old photo of knows of a game that I missed, I would be keen to add it to the list. I am fairly certain that there were many other matches.
I have to say it was a facinating search. During WW1, women played matches in long skirts, in the early 1920s games were established with quite a bit of resistance from men and from conservative women's groups.
Anyway...If anyone has an old photo, please flick it my way.
Women v Women Fancy dress match 1894 - East Melbourne Ground
Perth 1917
Adelaide 1929
WW2 - 1944
Footscray and Yarraville 1946
Adelaide 1947
Hobart 1954
