Sorry for the intrusion, but just had to come in here and say Merrett is an absolute animal. Star.

Also, hope Jones is ok that was so shit to see.

All the best for the rest of the season, especially at dreamtime #helpustank

We have about half a dozen players who we really don't want to have the ball in hand. Can't be a good side with that
McKay
Prior
McGrath
Hobbs *
Setterfield *
The * guys can have some good moments. The fact a few of these guys are in our backline is just not going to work.

Prior is good with ball in hand. Is the other parts of his game that are an issue.

Yeah, let's all just disregard being 2 down on the bench, plus carrying Goldy (not his fault) for most of the 2nd half.

It doesn't excuse all of the mistakes made. But you can't ask to play the kids, then get pissed off when said kids don't always execute under pressure.

I actually like that this team is showing a bit of grit in these wins.
The 'kids' aren't the problem.

Merrett is a star ⭐️ What a Captain!!!

Bombers get the 4 points but with some nasty injuries to Ridley and Jones.

Hard to watch for Harry.

Caddy shows some serious glimpses - can't wait for him to put a big game together in the future.
He could have had 2 dominant games in a row.

Should have probably had 2 x 4 goal games in a row as the most dominant fwd on the ground but kicking is missing. Hope it doesn't impact confidence in other aspects but seems to want to be the man which is great.

If he doesn't mark it, really good at bringing it to ground in 2 on 1s

Peter wright, another week another huge performance.
Really happy for him.

Saw good things from the future,
More evidence from the guys I don't want in the team showing that they shouldn't be.

Early days the defensive setup looked good but it is the opposition that allowed it and when they lifted we wilted.

Bit worried about the conditioning still. Shiel a seasoned vet goes down last week and is managed this week. Gresham groin, rids hammy.
Another serious injury that's what 4 in a row, hoping it's more dislocation rather than fracture.

Would like to see Caldwell, Johnson, hayes, visentini all in over the next 3 weeks.

Genuinely if we got through uninjured the side would not change from that pathetic showing. At least now we get a couple of new faces in.

Ugly ugly win. I'll take it.

Perkins was great for a half before the drive from the back dried up. Not holding my breath as far as consistency though.

Menzie. I don't care about his four goal game. The main character trait has been fumble fumble shank. Gresh groin injury probably means he stays in now though.

Goldy's cooked, the poor old bastard. Vigo next week?

Langford hasn't been impactful for two weeks. Returned underdone IMO.

Both Caddy and Kako suffered from a blood rush tonight when they needed to have an extra second of composure. It'll come. Their competitiveness in a few years will be finals standard. Very exciting.

Though Setters' game was undervalued by the commentators. During a dour second half he kept finding the ball.

First half heroes for me; Perkins, Ridley and Martin.

Full game grinders though; Setterfield, Roberts, Duursma, Durham, Caddy, Kako, Reid.

Zach Merrett. Immense. We are unbelievably lucky.

Out: Jones (inj), Gresh (inj), Rids (inj), Goldy (rest)
In: Johnson, Hayes, Vigo, ??

hope gresham rests for the rest of the year and has played his game for us. bring davey in!

I think you can explain our patchiness through games with rotations that are predetermined.
E.g. hobbs dominating on ball early, rotates with Tsatas and the game changes. Perkins getting involved early, langford unsighted, then they switch roles. And more swaps player for player that i cant exactly remember. But its why we get half games from players no desire from the coaches to switch back

What's worse than Essington? Because that was it.

We've beaten Wet Toast and Norf by a combined 5 points.

You can't make this shit up.
2 X 11 & 6 points wins in 2023 when they won 3 games for the year.

40 point win last year off a 8-2 goal 3rd quarter, when the won 3 games for the year.

Seems pretty familiar to me

We can't keep doing this to the corpse of Todd Goldstein surely. Let the man rest

lol an exact replica of last year

barely beat 2 of the worst two teams in recent history in North and WCE

We’ve got a terrible habit of going away from what got us into a good position. Last week we hit the front and (I can’t remember the exact score from that point on), we end up barely scoring thereafter. This week we take a convincing lead early, then stop playing how we were, and kick just 3 goals in 3 qtrs. Part of it is to do with teams adjusting but, let’s face it, there’s losing momentum and then there’s utterly embarrassing capitulations.

Outs: Jones, Gresham, Ridley, *Prior, **Goldy

Ins: SEH, Shiel, Caldwell?, 1 Johnson / Hayes (depending on positional changes eg Martin hb), Vigo
*Prior likely suspended
**Goldy put out to pasture, but may go again because of the amount of forced changes
