This is a sad day for Essendon faithful.

I wanted 14th or 15th to avoid humiliation, but after tonights performance against an injury RAVAGED and extremely low-on-form Port Adelaide at HOME, where we got thumped, the spoon is all but ours.

I am extremely disappointed and cannot bare to see us do so bad.

I will however, support them for the rest of the year, despite the fact that I high doubt we will win one game.

Sad, sad day

We have 15th wrapped up. If we somehow manage to lose again to Carlton, the spoon will be ours as of Round 16.

should i post the 'collingwood for flag' thread now of later? geee its not even 1/2 way through the season and to hear the c-r-a-p some ppl are coming up with whos to say we have a little run and win 3 in a row down the track .. its too hard to make those judgements this early on the season.. anything can happen and i hope something happens @ windy hill soon :D

There's fantasy, then there's reality. We have lost 8 in a row, will get thumped by the crows, probably lose to the cats, that will make 10 losses, and it is the equal 2nd worst run of losses in the history of the club. I challenge you to name 3 consecutive games we could win this year.

We have won 13 games from our last 46! Our fall from grace is nothing new, and it will continue, this year, and next. Some people just fail to accept reality.

Good call. I posted out of frustration.

I doubt we will win 3 in a row,
Essendon will struggle to win another game if they keep playing like the way they are. I only got a glimmer of hope last week, when they seemed to have some form against West Coast.

The whole club/Essendon board need to sit down and asses what they are doing wrong, and try and pin point where the problem is.
It's a joke.

Guys,
Dont be despondant. Do you play the Hawks again, because they are the worst team going at the moment.

You'll definately beat them.

its effing embarresing. we shouldnt be struggling like we are. tonight is the first evdience of serious problems ahead. our young young players are doing okay,so perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel, but at the moment,it is oh so painful

I think you blokes might be the only challenger to our "crown" although I am fairly confident we will be able to win it again.

Last time we won 3 in a row was Rounds 3-8 2004.

One thing to note, maybe it's nothing, but our poor run over the last two years started the week after the Hawthorn "line in the sand game". We were 7-3 going into that game, and while we smashed them, can anything be drawn from that game that would explain our fall from grace?

Since that match in early June 2004, not once have we strung together two consecutive wins in the regular season. We went on to only win 5 of our last 13 matches in 2004, then 8 of 22 last year, and now 1 from 9.

Has Hawthorn put a curse on us?

Coincidence.

Too many positives came out of that game for it to be a contributing factor to our poor form. Our blokes were disciplined in the brawl, we kept our head over the footy.

Jason Johnson, Solly, Pev, Lloyd were among our best that day.
Sean Wellman was going alright as well. Getting next to no input from those blokes and the retirement of Wellman has more to do with our lack of wins than anything else.

Also, since that Hawthorn match, while we have won 14 games, the Hawks have won 11. That's sad.

I was speaking a Port Adelaide supporter (yes i was game) after the match on Saturday night and he said Bryce Gibbs will revolutionise football.

There is the plus side.

That games may have shown other teams how to give you a wack.
