I cant stand grammar Nazi's

And I can't stand people who don't even make an effort to use correct grammar.
Surely you were all taught the difference between your and you're

And loose and lose

And to too and two

I'm not sure if the school system is to blame or whether people are just too lazy.

Sick of listening to him talk, same old crap every week. Avoiding the issue any way he can.

Exactly ^

I actually enjoyed listening to the commentary say things like... "would just like to see John worsefold make some sort of tactical change" Because he don't do **** all.

I don't even watch his pressers anymore because it's the same rubbish every time, we all know what he says.

It is obvious the structures are not working but the thing that gets me angry is since the start of the season we haven't improved one bit so its obvious they are sticking with the same, It is getting easier for good interstate teams to come and roll us at home as they know our weakness now.I don't understand the point of dropping brennan we need some pace in defence and he gets replaced by someone like adam selwood who is the opposite. I also believe we are playing too many talls in defence which is costing us games. I would drop brown and selwood for brennan and Mcginnity if he is fit to play.

I can't see it changing significantly enough to suit that game style. Unless we trade out some of our quality forwards for quality midfielders and somehow add multiple other fit, ready made midfielders which I highly doubt.

Look at the difference in midfielders using Sydney and Freos teams from the weekend.

Sydney: O'Keefe, Kennedy, Jack, Hannebery, Jetta, Parker and McVeigh are all quality midfielders. Add to that young Tom Mitchell, Bird, McGlynn, Bolton and Goodes all having runs through the midfield.

Fremantle: Barlow, Fyfe, Mundy, Hill, Crowley, C.Pearce, D.Pearce, Suban, De Boer, Mzungu and even Ballantyne and Walters can run through the middle.

They both also have more depth in the middle that we do. Their midfields also have genuine leg speed to burst forward and take advantage of the open spaces that are opened up because they push so hard back.

It would require a massive turnover.

there is a high chance with a new coach that there would be sweeping changes to the playing list.

to use the dockers as an example though deboer, suban, c. pearce and crowley werent anything special before ross got there and not to mention d. pearce wasnt even there.

I would love to know how much say Woosha has with recruitment. If he has no say (which is what he generally says at the time of draft week) then that significantly reduces the blame he should hold for the predicament the side is in. Woosha cant just invent quick and skilful players, players are generally naturally quick and/skilful. If he did not say anything at the end of the past few years then he should have but our drafting/recruiting has been very average for a good few years now. I remember the day when we were one of the best clubs at recruiting but we are a rabble now. You have to feel sorry for Woosha in that sense because that is not his job.

Our drafting hasn't been that bad. Its been hit and miss like any club. The last 2 years maybe a bit poor but those players are yet to prove themselves.

Shouldn't that be "to, too and two"?

I disagree in it requiring a massive turnover, a new coach brings a new perspective. Look at Crowley, Walters, Suban and even Mayne under Lyon aswell compared to before. The talent is there on our list (or maybe requires a player or 2 more imo)

Even with the Swans, O'Keefe used to be a half forward, Kennedy wasn't rated by the Hawks and wasn't Jack a rugby convert? Whose to say a Darling/Hurn couldn't turn into a big bodied/tackling machine midfielder.

As for pace, Freo have Hill and Pearce. Swans Jetta and Jack who can be considered exceptionally quick. That's only a couple of players that makes the whole team look quick. Maybe we already have the pace, its just not being fully utilized yet? (Smith, Schofield, even Dick perhaps?)

Our biggest problem currently seems to be matchday tactics. There is no plan B currently. The way Lyon turned the momentum from the coaches box in the Collingwood and Sydney games for Freo is incredible. From what I remember of Roos at the Swans, he was one of the best matchday coaches going around (or perhaps that was Lyon all along next him??)...in any case, Woosh has been badly outcoached this year so far (Rich, Port, Carlton, Freo games all spring to mind).

Having said all that, I'm trying to stay optimistic for this season and hoping like hell he has something left up his sleeve to pull out. I'll repeat what I said in my original post in that I think it's Woosh that will make the call to leave at the end of the year, not the club. Didn't the club offer him a contract a few weeks back and he said he'll review at the end of the year? He just looks to me as if he's already planned a move.

I was referring more to types of players and the mix that we have ended up with, resulting in an overload of averaged paced guys.

I assume it's been spoken about somewhere in this thread but who else is finding it a little childish how Woosh is acting in his pressers? I'm all for the banter and him trolling journalists when they ask dogshite questions but right now it's coming across the wrong way to me.

Think there is more to it than meets the eye, but as has been stated previously this forum is not the place to discuss / speculate about Woosha's life away from football.

hmm, it does seem as though he's almost fed up. Maybe he just really doesn't have the answers for how they're playing right now, which would obviously be a bad thing as it's his job to know.

The fact it's only been the last week or two that he's been really taking the piss may suggest there's more than meets the eye like you mention.

Could be sick of fronting the media after 12 years..cause i know i would be with all the sort of crap they ask you.

Why not?

If there are off field issues impacting Wooshas performance then why are they off limits?

I can guarantee that those in the club including the players know the rumours and stories. To the extent they've put 2 + 2 together and formed a view that Woosh has had enough and wants to move on then that could well impact performance - particularly given that Woosh is a coach who expects 120% every day from players. If they sense he's now cruising to "retirement" that would impact some of the group...

After 2010 the Management trusted John on his word that he had the right players to go forward, now after 3 years its clear he was wrong and although we have a pretty decent list the lack of Midfield quality meant that John was wrong and there would be no way he could present that to the Board this time round. If he were to negotiate another 3 year deal what would it be based on ? another rebuild ? I think not and John knows his time is done and the next chapter of his life is close.

Surely he must have some say? They must ask him "what do you need John to improve your team". And surely he tells them "a big-bodied hard mid and a lightning winger with an accurate and penetrating kick."

I've heard him (and others) say "we just take the best player available when our turn comes irrespective of position." Hopefully it's more targeted than that. But it does explain how we've got so many biggish forwards and so many smallish backs.

Arrogance is the word I would use.
