If two changes are to happen to our coaching panel and it includes Woosha staying my theoretical guess at a possible maybe is probably;
Burns out for Voss in as Mid coach
Phil Walsh out for either Harvey or possibly Roos as the innovations/strategy coach and even gameday coach.

Why would anyone employ Mark Harvey to be a match day strategist? His inability to communicate with players was one of his major shortcomings at Fremantle. West Coast needs to be going in the opposite direction. If anything, I would hope the club would be gauging Alan Richardson's interest in leaving Port Adelaide.

A match day strategist doesn't necessarily need to have good communication skills with the players.

That would still be the coaches job to explain the changes.

Still - the reality is with all assistant coaches - you never know exactly how good they are from the outside.

Everyone sitting in the box needs to have good communication skills, whether that be with the players, sponsors, board or other coaches.

"First up, a big shout-out to John Worsfold for making a mockery of our call for Jimmy Bartel to be dumped. In fairness to the author, who would have expected that the Eagles would let Bartel play as a spare man in defence? With tactical nous like that it's hardly a surprise West Coast are 9-11"

Haha you know things are going bad when fantasy footy writers are pointing out Worsfolds flaws as well ^

Im certain the footy strategist in the box on game day is the same bloke freo had a few years back , could explain why where playing like the old freo side ............When did we fall so far back in our footy dept, seriously second rate
compared to everyone else ......the shakeup would be better if Woosha was included in the clean out, wishful thinking but it aint going to happen, so same old, same old next year.
The Essendon saga will be tainting the finals anyway, the end result will be a anti-climax.

Who exactly are you talking about?

A tactic or lack of tactic that Woosha as a defender should know is ; Train the defenders or mids relentlessly to guard the goal line .FFS this is one of wce worst weaknesses ,watch collingwood ,Hawks and Geelong guard the square and get a Clue ..

I've always been a huge Woosha supporter, but in my OP he has really stifled the development of the side by playing Embley and Selwood too long, they should have retired at the end of 2012.
Why were they given contracts to play this year when it was clear to most that they were past it?
Priddus is only going to get slower and his 30m kicks forward from the bounce are not going to get any longer, he should not be offered a contract beyond next year.
Cox is also looking a lot slower to me, Lycette looks much more agile and definitely faster, in my OP if Naitanui is fit next year Lycette should be the back up ruckman and Cox the emergency to give the young fellas a break during the year.
I would much rather that Wilson had replaced A Selwood I this years team, he looks the real deal and would have benefitted from more AFL games.
Looking forward to better days!

Yeah i agree, there are some games this year where the opposition has bounced through 5 or so goals and i just facepalmed

Happens every single time the ball goes from our forward 50 and the other team gets the rebound. Just look at the Geelong game again.

Hasn't one of Woosh's biggest flaws apparently been his want for man-on-man play? Bartel being spare man meant that we also had a spare man. If we maned him up it would have crowded our forward line even more, while giving Geelong far more space in theirs.

Yes but at least then you can compete man on man if the ball gets kicked in his direction or make a useable lead and draw him out of the area so we can hit up another target. If he is there by himself he gets to pick and choose what contest he influences. Our mids should be pushing back hard or corralling thier players to slow the opposition down on a turnover so we can get back and clog up thier 50.

That assumes we are fitter than them and able to run harder for longer.....

Well we have been doing all these extra time trials :D

Seriously though, its also about structure and how we set up when the ball has been kicked into our forward 50. If we set up properly we should be able to apply pressure to the ball coming out of our forward 50 and slow them down enough to allow us to get back into our defensive 50 if required.

Can't wait to see what pearls of wisdom he comes up with with after tonights game, which I somehow suspect may well be an arse kicking.
