I would hate us to sack Woosh. I personally would give him an extra year even if we miss finals, as I've got faith that he can turn it around again.

Having said that I don't know if the club will be that forgiving.

1) We've only played four games so nothings certain yet

2) Miss out on the 8 and Worsfold won't be re-signed, and why should he - irrespective of the injury list

Coaches don't last long in modern football, and he has been at the helm for a long time.

We don't want to underachieve for the next decade so in the event we miss out on the 8, a fresh leadership could be a real boost

No doubting he is a champion top notch bloke, Woosh 4 PM I say!!!

If he or we were to move on I wouldn't be against giving David Teague a shot. He seems an extremely smart man tactically and speaks very well the times I've heard him on 6PR.

Do you mean re-signed or resigned? Or were you saying Boooourns?

I don't think anyone has every doubted Worsfold's character. But tactically he falls short of some of the better modern coaches... particularly on game day. IMHO, we were completely outcoached by Carlton.

Remember, this is a premiership coach and captain of our club... he has turned around a terrible season 2010.. its not just his fault and I hate how the media and the clubs hammer the coaches, so many players need to be responsible for there showings wooshas not going out there and playing for them same as Mark Neeld, he can only say so much its up to them to put the effort on the ground!

Does anyone else besides me actually want him to fire up and give them a spray when we play shit? Rather then just staring blankly ahead as we get completely outcoached and everything.

It's the same with players on the ground... shuey, Sinclair, razzle, scooter, cox will all miss shots at goal from easy positions and i'll go "aaaahhhh for ****sake!" at my tv, and yet looking at the players reaction afterwards, none of them really seem to care. I'd like to see some fricken emotion from time to time.

Knowing the team is as angry as me is comforting :p

Yeh id love to see him give an old fashioned spray at quarter time if we are playing shithouse again this weekend

Bet he does it behind closed doors.....

The players were all holding their heads and yelling expletives when they missed, as if they don't care.

Worsfold is just one of those people who doesn't openly display emotion. Remember when we won the premiership in 06, they cut to the coaches box where everyone is going nuts except Woosha who almost manages to crack a smile! He will make a great poker player in his retirement.

If we had a coach like brad Scott who reacts to everything and anything, that would be embarrassing IMO.

Seriously though, if someone at your work gives you a spray, do you work harder for them?

I have never really been on the end of anything like that at work, but I am sure my reaction would be " F U!"

Yeh but to be honest work and AFL are completely different. If we are playing dismal football on saturday and look like heading to 1-4 I think a spray is well deserved. It will have a few players that believe their own hype look at things differently.

And to answer your question no and yes i would be like F-U but as mentioned above AFL and the real world aren't that comparable.

Really? Don't remember much of that except shuey did it once when he missed a sitter maybe.

I remember in 05 one game against Adelaide away from home and we weren't kicking well and Braun missed another shot on the run.. he looked up to the heavens held out his palms and growled as if to say "whyyyyy!"

Was one of my fondest memories

I would be absolutely gutted if the club was even contemplating sacking Whoosha. He has been at this club since its inception ( sans a couple of years at the blues) and every little bit of success we have ever had he has had some role to play. He absolutely has runs on the board. It would be a horrible way for our club to server ties with him in this way. Who gives a flying toss if he shows no emotion during the games or during his pressers...seriously... the fact is that Perth Now article has given us a little insight and proven that we really know feck all about what goes on behind closed doors at our club with our players and coaches. How do we know that Whoosha doesn't go hard on the boys when the cameras are off? How do we know that our players aren't absolutely gutted with their performances over the last few weeks? We can only assume us being armchair critics....we have absolutely no idea.
