A coach we need is a coach who isn't afraid to clean out the dead wood we have in the team. Make some tough decisions on players who have played 200 + games for us, free up some cap space also. Lance Franklin and Harry Taylor should both be priority one for us.

Is that you Dean Bailey?

Which ever way Woosha decides to go it needs to be decided and announced during the bye. If he does go at the end of the year the club needs to know soon so it is not left behind the eight ball in looking for a new coach. Personally I'm happy for him to continue, as aside from Paul Roos I don't think there are many better options out there. I think the players would also benefit from an announcement either way in the bye.

No it's Cameron here:p Me and my mate Chris have got some good ideas. Fixed Freo, fixed Melbourne do you want a hand?
Sure why not, at least we'll get some decent draft picks. Cale's here too, he'll show you around.

We are the the sad position of having nothing to go forward with, Woosh should rightly just fall on his sword and give the incumbent half a season to prove themself. I say lets just bite the bullet and go with Burns for 12 matches and see what he brings.

Journo: "One of the most amazing things was you won the hitouts... mumble... clearances, do you know why that was?"
Woosha: "Nah, don't know."
Bigfooty: "Yes, well our midfield is rubbish, we lack genuine extractors and we are too slow."

still hurting from yesterdays loss the worse ive seen live infront of me at subi.

i really dont know what to say anymore about worsfold. he brought us out of the darkness in 2011 but still had some holes in the midfield and such. and it looks like at the moment cox and kerr are starting to real slow down which is hurting us even more.

the annoying part out of all this is the fact we havent drafted decent midfielders in some time and the fact we're getting slower.

and it may very well be hes lost the passion to coach us. its been 11 years at the helm eventually things go stale.

we are pretty much two very good midfielders away from a good side. our problem now is though cox, kerr glass and to a lesser extent embley and a selwood are pretty much about to retire. we have a lot of work to do to get us back. and im not sure if worsfold wants to do it again.

We're done and dusted for another year lets be honest here. You have to make the top 4 to be a chance and we aren't going to do that so is it possible Worsfold is looking to get some low picks ? Its the only thing that I can rationalize our poor performances this year with because the list is pretty decent apart from the obvious midfield dilemma and Woosh did use his only tool in the shed by bringing LeCras into the midfield so we have to be looking to next year already I would be thinking.

Oh god no. Sounds like an idiot in press conferences and there is a reason he has applied for 123492364 head coaching jobs but never got one
I always had this same reaction to Sumich coaching us in the past. Now however, I am starting to think it might not be such a bad idea! He has had a couple of seasons working with Lyons now and a bit of hard, contested, defensive football coaching seems to be what we need.

Who else is there?

( I love Woosha, but we have gone backwards, and he seems to have lost the players. That crap last night is not the sort of football Woosha would ever be involved in, so the message is not being received.)

I want a proven coach or a tough, uncomprimsing rookie coach. IMO Sumich fits neither of these, if he was going to make a good coach he would ahve been picked up already.

Not sure who else is out there though tbh

Worsfold finally mentioned lack of cleanness. I have been crapping on about it all year and my family are sick of me mentioning it. They must do something about it, Kerr is the only one who has the abilty to take the ball 1st grab around the stoppages. What is the use of having the best ruckman if we can't use it. Imagine Naita in any of the other top sides, premiership guaranteed.

I'd back Woosh in to realise that tbh. In the off season we got Wellingham and Cripps, both of whom should have added pace to the midfield. Cripps lacks composure with his kicking but it will improve with experience and Wellingham is injured.

But I'd say it's clear what the intention was over the trade period and that the club is aware that we fall down in the middle.

Needs to be a bit more open at times with what is happening. Mind you, then this board would serve a less significant purpose (in speculating).

Only a clear think statesman would have answered so under the circumstances, thus avoiding public critisism of team memebers. A quality club. Had we won and the Q was a mirror image Woosha would have answered the same. He gives away nothing.

If you want emotionally unstable morons there are a few to chose from.

That the problem is understood is very evident by our drafting and trading, Wellingham, Cripps, Benell, Morton - all run

Im sorry ziad, but balanced responses at times like this are unnecessary please...:D

They identified the problem...but they hardly resolved it.

Morton & Bennell are rubbish! Cripps is young, so I'll spare the judgement and Wellingham is good but no A-grade player.

We need an injection of a A-grade midfield.

Shuey, Scotter & Gaff haven't improved.
Rosa, Priddis and Masten are all B-grade players.
Kerr is old.

So questions need to be asked of Burns

be nice if we could lure guy mckenna back to perth.

something tells me he's set for a decade of dominance with GC in the near future though.

I can kind of relate to Woosha's words, as I also don't have a ****ing clue what's wrong this year. Well, we're slow and our midfield is not very good and it doesn't matter how tall the forward line is if the delivery is not there.

I've been wondering where we're at for 3 years now. Genuine wooden spooners don't make preliminary finals the next year. And genuine top 4 contenders don't play with no ticker. I thought 2012 was the yard stick. With such a horrible injury list, we still managed to snag 5th (and that 2 point loss against Brisbane really hurt us).

But now we get this. If there are major issues going on behind the scenes and Woosha is playing his cards close to protect the players, fair enough, but can't he give us some clues?
