Totally agree it's quite obvious Woosha isn't going to berate his players in public, just creates a shitstorm which is just not necessary.

I'd like to think he would lay down the law behind closed doors but if so, then as said above somewhere, why aren't the players responding?

That's the extremist view. I think we as supporters do deserve a little bit more than an implied "don't worry, daddy will fix it behind the scenes" type response.

I always had this same reaction to Sumich coaching us in the past. Now however, I am starting to think it might not be such a bad idea! He has had a couple of seasons working with Lyons now and a bit of hard, contested, defensive football coaching seems to be what we need.

( I love Woosha, but we have gone backwards, and he seems to have lost the players. That crap last night is not the sort of football Woosha would ever be involved in, so the message is not being received.)

He doesnt have to berate them. All he has to do is say this is why we were shit. And this shit is unacceptable at our club. and this shit wont be tolerated. And do we want to be un-shit. And if the players are shit they wont be in the team. No berating just matter of fact fact.

Think woosh needs to be let go. Has been at the club as coach since 2002. That is clearly the longest serving coach of any club in the comp. Sentiment needs to be removed and the club needs to make a rational decision and find someone who will take the club forward because at the moment woosh is not doing that. You think a new coach would be playing selwood and embley every week just because they have been good servants to the club! If a change isnt made this season i have a feeling things will get much worse before they get better.

I'm sorry but this is such a bad look and as I have said before it is now time to move on. I have loved the work he has done and the results he has produced but time to go.

Woosha couldn't give a straight answer and muddled his way through the question.

The media outlets have finally cottoned onto what the supporters have been saying for a while.

2nd question, are you the best coach to carry on and do you still have the passion.

Woosha: Muddled his way through, "up to others to decide" and "I'll sit down at years end" and "media and fans have the right to heir opinion".


Could you imagine Worsfold letting off a pearler, "That was unacceptable by our midfield last night. The team is on notice. I don't accept that and nor should the fans. What I will say is that we will now find out over the next few weeks, who has the passion and who will be moved on".

Just once in 10 years!

I understand it's not Worsfold's style.... but Malthouse was able to do this once in a few years. Didn't hurt his standing amongst the players.

Where would Peter Sumich be in the mix if Woosha decided to hang up the boots at the end of the year?

I always had some sneaky suspicion that there may be some kind of gentlemans agreement between Sumich and Woosha. Sumich goes off down the road and gets experience under Lyon, then when Whoosha leaves, he comes back as coach.

I would think Burns would not get a look in as he is just more of the same whereas at least Suma has new ideas.

I will be borderline suicidal if they re-sign him at years end. Please if I dont post on the day if he re-signs please someone track my ISP and send an ambulance to my house.

One of the Geelong posters on the main board mentioned that there was a presser given by Thompson in 07 that pissed them all off. Iirc it was after Simpson had got a heap of the ball (40+) in round 4 or so and when asked who was on him, Thompson said he didn't know. This obviously caused great anger and annoyance because he really should know what is happening under his watch on game day.

But then at the rising star ceremony Selwood said it was him who was palying on Simpson that day and Thompson just didn't want to throw a 4th gamer under the bus.

Point being, Woosh has got us this far and been right more often than not and although the presser left me with even less of an idea than before watching it, I'll back him in.

What I want to know is how he had the balls to look Brennan in the eye and tell him he was dropped for Adam Selwood with a serious reason. This type of dropping is what loses player groups from coaches and sometimes players from clubs.

The club has a waiting list of "new" members when it gets room for them, I'm not sure it's entirely phased by the thought of a few being discouraged by a lack of transparency.
