Maybe he relises that loosing one games isn't the end of life as we know it.
Yeah but to bloody Richmond ffs ? I would prefer to lose to Carlton or Norths over them. How could we let Richmond Football Club flog us @ our home ground ffs ? come on answer me here all ye who are sprouting delusions of grandeur ? I say you are only as good as your last game and 9nthmond @ Subi showed me we are 10th or worse.

So what? We lost, happens all the time. Doesn't matter to who we lost, or the manner of how we lost, it's done. Not even an infinite amount of rage and whining can change that. So why the hell are people still crying about the coach and the players and what they didn't do. How about we all focus on what the coach and the players are going to do differently this week.

And I can't stand people who don't even make an effort to use correct grammar.
Surely you were all taught the difference between your and you're

And loose and lose

And to too and two

I'm not sure if the school system is to blame or whether people are just too lazy.
I agree totally although, given that I can predict the response, I tend to keep it out of forums. It's a little like sitting several cars back at a traffic light that's turned green and thinking/muttering/shouting "GO ALREADY! USE YOUR BRAIN! DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE CAR IN FRONT HAS ACCELERATED AWAY BEFORE YOU GET IN GEAR AND TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE!"

I despise idiocy, ignorance and a lack of common sense. It is becoming all too common. I live with this frustration every day, but I'm also cognizant of the fact that it's a first world problem. So I keep it all bottled up. Usually.

Hmm.

Nothing?

I watched a replay of the 2006 GF. The commentators were all marvelling back then that Worsfold did something different and played Wirrpanda loose man in defence.

Strange thing is that we won the game.

Because nothing has been changed all year and look at the position we're in. We also won't make the finals, which is disgraceful for a team with the best forward, back and rucks in the game and that most people had us either finishing first or winning the flag.

I agree, it's pretty bad. But it really does highlight just how important the classy and dynamic midfielder is to the modern game. People assert that the Brownlow is essentially a medal honouring the best midfielder, but they do change the game. It's still won around stoppages (on-ball and midfield), gaining the ball in dispute (on-ball with contested possessions and key position with contested marks), and elite disposal (essential in half-backs, on-ball and midfield).

Needless to point out, but for completion I will, we stink at all of the above, save for Hurn, Kerr and a few others here and there, but over the spread of the team, we have too many with low disposal skills and a low ability to win contested ball and gain an effective clearance.

I can't see it changing significantly enough to suit that game style. Unless we trade out some of our quality forwards for quality midfielders and somehow add multiple other fit, ready made midfielders which I highly doubt.

Look at the difference in midfielders using Sydney and Freos teams from the weekend.

Sydney: O'Keefe, Kennedy, Jack, Hannebery, Jetta, Parker and McVeigh are all quality midfielders. Add to that young Tom Mitchell, Bird, McGlynn, Bolton and Goodes all having runs through the midfield.

Fremantle: Barlow, Fyfe, Mundy, Hill, Crowley, C.Pearce, D.Pearce, Suban, De Boer, Mzungu and even Ballantyne and Walters can run through the middle.

They both also have more depth in the middle that we do. Their midfields also have genuine leg speed to burst forward and take advantage of the open spaces that are opened up because they push so hard back.

It would require a massive turnover.

Just to add to the discussion, Roos coached the Swans to a premiership with an outstanding forward line and an average sort of midfield. We weren't in WC's midfield class and certainly the Sydney that won the premiership in 2005 didn't bat nearly as deep or have as many good players as the Sydney of now.

Granted the game has progressed from that time, but if Roos did decide to coach WC I don't think your list would have to be radically transformed for him to implement a game plan. Maybe a preseason or two which isn't far beyond the norm. Sydney had one significant pre-season in 2009 to make us a completely different team and that had Roos' pawprints all over it.

After 2010 the Management trusted John on his word that he had the right players to go forward, now after 3 years its clear he was wrong and although we have a pretty decent list the lack of Midfield quality meant that John was wrong and there would be no way he could present that to the Board this time round. If he were to negotiate another 3 year deal what would it be based on ? another rebuild ? I think not and John knows his time is done and the next chapter of his life is close.

We made a pre lim?

Heard today that Woosha's marriage has gone sour. Could explain the lack of enthusiasm as he's distracted elsewhere. :(
You never see his missus involved in anything even from his playing days, I wouldn't be surprised if this is just BS.

Well if history is anything to go by speculation on the future of a coach at a club can affect on field performance.

Woosha deserves to stay on, given his excellent record

Even if I'm totally dumbfounded on some of his selections lately. A Selwood WTF!!!!
