Ross Lyon didn't come to freo for love though.
He coaches purely for money.
I reckon if he'd get a job shoveling shit hat paid more he'd take it up
Chance of a flag was probably pretty tempting too.

It would be a kick in the nuts for me to see anyone other than Worsfold coach us, certainly at first.
I've got man-love for him, and wish him all the best in whatever decision he makes in terms of his coaching future but I'd love for him to stay more than anything.

What makes you so certain Worsfold won't coach next season?
A couple of things for mine
Firstly, the last 2 times he has had his contract renewed it has happened at the mid-season break. It happened without much initial media coverage. The two parties came together, both were happy to go ahead so they signed.
This year all the noises from Cransberg is the Eagles are willing participants meaning Worsfold is the one holding out. His presser the other week about their being 20-30 factors in making up his mind is horseshit.
There's 1 factor - does he still want to coach?
If he wants to continue coaching, the deal would have been done already IMO
hmmm so they did, I was sure it was in the bye.End of the 2011 he signed at the end of the season.
Doesn't that just mean he hasn't decided yet? He may yet decide he's got a couple more years in him.
I would have thought that the decision to coach again would either be a definte yes, or its a no.
If you are undecided, IMO that is as good as a no.
I could of course be wrong, but his pressers don't exactly exude he is passionate about the group and the exciting things ahead that he has extolled in years past

Do you honestly think plans arnt underway already behind closed doors to sign up Roos or ( someone else for that matter)and to make all the arrangements for the big announcement.
Get a gripp people... this is one the countries most powerful sporting organisations with the best Business leaders in the country in charge,( This is not a club like melbourne ) Crainsburg is the ALCOA CEO with a turnover in the billions, he aint no mug! so Whatever is happening behind closed doors , Change is coming , and it will for the better!
Starting to get the feeling he has already told the club he wants out and both sides are keeping up the charade to keep the media circus from getting out of hand.
For all we know the Eagles have already approached someone for confidential discussions...
I have always been a big supporter of Woosha as coach, but I have to say I am bitterly disappointed he has kept playing Embley and A Selwood when they are past it, doing so has had a negative effect on the team in my OP and has only succeeded in holding young players back from gaining experience and confidence at the highest level.
We then need to go after the best tactical coach we can find to make best use of what we have on the list.
Not sure he's been floated as a potential replacement already, but Dean Laidley fits this to a tee.
Would also fit in well with the club's renowned "don't tell 'em nuffink" approach
Just an idea.
Laidley has always struck me as someone better suited to an assistants role. Where's he at now anyway?

Assistant at St Kilda.
If he was to come onboard as senior assistant under say Burns then I would be pretty happy.
Cheers.
I knew he had left Port but couldn't remember if he went to a Melbourne club and if so which one.
Still think Sumich is a very strong chance to come back as head coach if Woosh does leave.
I'd also be interested in the club having a talk to Cameron Ling to come on board as an assistant
I agree with Lingy as an assistant..but if we chose Sumich do you think Burns would stick around? If you asked me 2 years ago about Sumich taking over i would have said hell no. But now he is under Lyon he will now have more experienced from a gun coach and he would know a fair bit about the WCE players and think he could be a good coach.
Reckon is Woosh does go Burns will be given the nod.
Why do you think he pulled out of those other jobs?
