I cant believe what i'm reading. Pull your fingers out fellas, i'm sure most of you would be sucking your thumb applying for weeks of stress leave (or time off school more likely), if you were having marital problems.
The man is doing he absolute best with what he has got and you're still screaming for blood.
Jump off the bandwagon while you can.

its clear players are still playing for the coach. not sure what replacing him will do.

we are now facing our own double dip recession. we rebuilt in 3 years which simply doesnt happen but now senior players are getting on a bit and sliding. combine that with injuries and its not a surprise where we are at.

some drafting decisions have hurts us, too many vanilla midfielders but there were no obvious better ones to pick, so i am willing to forgive. if it happens again this year however, id be questioning the recruiting.

if anything today enhanced his reputation, they played some pretty inspired footy against one of the very best teams in the comp, and we were missing 8 or 9 players.

I'm with you. Excellent post. Anyone who does not feel that the players gave their all today has no idea about football. We out scored them for three quarters with a third of our first choice team out. If the Dorks think they are a top 4 team then they are dreaming.

Given our outs, the team played well today. How can a gutsy effort against quality opposition demand such a response?

My thoughts exaclty. Was a good effort simply ran out of legs today with our weakened midfield. Cox was a waste of a jumper out there today too.

That said I wouldn't be shattered if Woosha stepped down at the end of the year. It's been real.

Definitely there is an element of frustration over perceived favoritism by the match committee, however our drafting with mid to early picks since 2007 has in cases been poor. In fact surprisingly poor.

Whether it is the players chosen, or our ability to retain and develop them I don't know, however the highly polar nature of this range of selections is troubling. Masten, NN, Gaff, Scooter, Shuey and Darling have so far been resounding successes.

However whilst I still have hopes that Sheppard will become a solid best 22 player, selections such as Notte, Ebert, Swift, Stevens, Weedon and sadly Newman (jury out on Mcinnes), illustrate that we can also burn picks or fail to develop and retain talent.

I say lay it all out in the next 7 weeks, this means playing all the youngsters and give players like Embley, Selwood, Kerr and other oldies a long earned rest. Lets see if Bennel, McGovern, Dick, Tunbridge, Colledge, Carter, Wilson, McInnies and Newman are going to be at the club next year and if not move them on.

It has nothing to do with 'playing for the coach.' Worsfold is far too tactically inept to be a decent, let alone good coach with all the zones and what not that goes on these days.

has everything to do with playing for the coach. players can pick up whether coach is good or not. you can only play for the coach and execute instruction if you respect his ability. being a club legend only last so long with players.

i am not sure what, to you, he does to show he is inept as a coach with zones and what not?

The Eagles get carved open the same way every single week. Opposition push their half forwards up the ground, Eagles defenders always follow them and then the ball gets kicked over their heads and opposition run into an open goal. How many times did it happen today? How about leaving at least 1 fast player back in case the opposition gets their quick players streaming toward goal? No Worsfold refuses to do it.
