I think you and woosha need a change.

He looks like Mark Thompson in his last year at geelong. Looks tired, a bit disinterested and a little dispirited.

Hopefully he makes the right choice because the club don't seem to be able to see it or want to make the decision.

I tell you all this now, Worsfold aint going anywhere...the money is just way too good. The best we can hope for is that his next contract has more performance based carrots in it.

How can we git rid of the board and the chairmen etc do the members actually have a say or is the club run as a dictatorship

Worsfolds contract runs out this year and now that its clear they cant make finals there is no way they can automatically extend his contract on the back of these results. WCE have gone from premiership favourites to not even making the finals.

The only responsible thing the WCE board can do is advertise the coaching position so we get the absolutely best coach for the club. Amazing how many people would show interest when there is a 1.2 mil per annum at stake. Even Worsfold himself could reapply and get it on his own merits when he is compared to others. At the moment its incestuous and jobs for the boys environment.

After that game today that has now extinguished the last glimmer of hope we had of making finals we need to start planning for next year and beyond now. Make a decision on whether worsfold is to continue as coach as soon as possible as the first step. If we haven't already sound out the likes of Roos, Williams, Eade to see if they have any interest in the job should it become available.

Worsfold should be told to let the club know now if he wants to continue and if he does he should have to clearly demonstrate why the club should maintain faith in him and why next year won't just be more of the same as 2013

Don't play established players who aren't 100% but play the guys who are on the fringe to see if they can show any signs of persisting with after their current contract expires or to establish their trade value. Look at what players might be available through free agency that can improve our list and target them in the same way freo did with Pearce

Regardless of whether worsfold stays look at our assistant coaches and look around the league to see who could be brought in to improve/reinvigorate our coaching panel

Recruitment and fitness staff also have to be questioned as both areas have been substandard

We look stale and bereft of ideas and I think the time is right for woosh to move on as I don't think we have a 2011 style return in us - as the year wears on that's looking more a dead cat bounce than the start of a new challenge

Keeping worsfold would be a mistake but if he stays, wholesale changes need to be made around him if it is going to work

Seriously, you may be disenchanted with Woosha, but what alternatives do the Eagles have ?. Good senior coaches don't grow on trees.

I reckon that if the board think that Woosha is their best option for 2014, give him a one year contract with incentives dangled in front of him. This gives the board time to see if Woosha's "new" plans start to show merit, plus allow them to quietly sus out some coaching options for 2015.

I'm thinking that the Eagles board has become too conservative, they must get on the front foot and start hunting. Be aggressive.

If the people on this board who have an inside word are correct (some mention they "know" Woosh will be staying on as senior coach), the only thing that could possibly warrant this is that he has been secretly devising a gameplan that will be ideal with the capped rotations.

The reason I doubt this is the case is that there are no indications at this stage what that all important number is, so why would any coach risk changing things radically if, say, there's a chance of a cap at 130 per match? That would be negligent and just silly.

If he is re-appointed, I will not expect us to make finals next year either. I believe that even if we have our best team available for close to every game next year (thus analysing on the basis of talent + team structure), I cannot see us beating Hawthorn, Sydney, Geelong, Freo, Essendon, or Richmond. All have an upside/room for improvement/getting good players back from injury.

We have beaten all of those sides apart from Sydney in the last 2 years with the current squad. We almost beat a couple of them this year with half a squad. People need to stop being so negative. The team we have is capable of doing better than it has this year. Why don't we wait and see what happens instead of writing them off already.

For goodness sakes- we had 11 of our best 22 out and then lost Masten - what did you morons expect. It is not Wooshas fault that we have not been able to field our best team for a single game for the entire year!
