Was that because he had one season where he played almost a full season and the the other three were only 10 games or less, and averaged out over 4 seasons it doesnt sound too bad Fivey? ;)

No it was 21, 11, 20, 7. Seemed like a reasonable subset. He's averaged 12 games per season over his career but that includes missing all of 2005 with a knee and all of 2009 with an elbow.

So based on that.....

2005 -0
2009 -0
2011 -11
2013 -7

2010 -21
2012 -20

Beau hates odd years. Pencil him in for 20+ games next year

Cool, so that means someone might want to have him in a trade, and we could look at getting a high pick for him to draft a really good mid prospect. Get it done Fivey!! :)

2007 - 20
2008 - 8

:(

2006 -23:)

2007 was a goldfish infused one off and reversed the trend for two years before the natural pattern was re-established

Oh, is that why we were talking about his average games per year?

Forget it then, he won't be traded.

Yeah Lynch in for Gardy would have made my day alot better I think.

'05 was the height of Lynch being regarded as rubber chested and couldn't kick a goal to save his life, having him in the team that year wouldn't have helped.

My memory isn't that great of the day but Gardy took all of two marks and kicked 0.2 (according to stats I just looked up). I mentioned before that Lynch had a very ordinary month or so leading up to the game, worthy of being dropped. It's just more a reflection of how much a liability Gardy was.

Gardiner had a stinker - was clearly unfit and was just plonked at full forward and had no impact, can't remember him going into the ruck at any stage although he may well have. The two points he kicked were gettable shots in the 1st quarter that would have helped us keep pace with the Swans early. The decision to not play Phil Matera because he wasn't 100% was dumb in light of the fact they played Gardiner when he wasn't either.

The other factor was Gaspar should have been suspended but once Hall got off they almost had to let Gaspar off to maintain the illusion of fairness. Gaspar also had a bad game and had he been suspended Lynch would have played. In a game where we had to find just one more goal some questionable selection decisions hurt us.

I think it was much of a muchness really, both were terrible options at the time

Didn't we lose Kerr early that day too?

You can't start a midfield rebuild around a bloke who plays 7 games a season. Trade Waters he is of no value to us playing 7 games a season.
If you want to rebuild around someone from left field then why not Hurn?

putting him in the midfield will give a lot of second thoughts to annoying people like Crowley;the smaller blokes will walk taller;he can kick long and accurately either at goal or to a leading forward;remember Byron Kickett??The big plus is that he is not trying to pinpoint somebody while under pressure in the backline. This bloke is a very smart footballer.Given the freedom to run amok in the midfield he could be a revelation;I distinctly remember him banging through a 60m goal whilst having a run in the middle last year. The big BIG plus is we dont have to sit through those death or glory; damn you Waters moments.Hes no left field pick.

Pity, because if he could get us a high draft pick to get that very good mid we need, it would be beneficial for the club to look at doing it imo.
He's worth far more to us than anyone else.

For any of you that watched North's win tonight....

Care to reflect on exactly how much our midfield stinks? It clearly pinpoints that Priddis has no place in our team.

Selwood can't run period. Yet still gets games

Adam Selwood? I think the MC finally have worked out your point as he hasn't played for a few weeks now. Hopefully beyond a farewell game we don't see him again.
