The issue with Waters disposal can be fixed. Just tell him to be like glass and pass off where possible. Play within his limitations don't try the impossible pass etc.

His presence and courage adds an immeasurable amount to the back line imo

Waters and Butler should go. Though both have caused multiple turnovers in 2013...
...Waters cost us the Essendon game....

Agree it is not well written. Try reading it again. It may make better sense to you on the second read.
I understand what it says...
Thats the point....the article has no connection to the title....it has nothing to do with roos

according to woohsa press conference, he wants to make a return to the field, said if he had ten days off, he could play aswell!, this was in response to Nic Nat chomping at the bit to play after 10 day off..

Call me crazy but why is John Worsfold being assigned a new contract? I mean his record when broken down evenly over the past 12 years (after the Gold Coast game) isn't that great.

2002-2007: 90 wins, 52 losses, 2 draws. Winning ratio: 62.5% (finals every season, two grand finals and one premiership). You can't complain about that though you can question the non-selection of both Lynch and Matera in the 2005 grand final. I know both were somewhat injured but they were our leading goal kickers for the season.

2008-2013 (after the Gold Coast game): 58 wins, 75 losses. Winning ratio: 43% (finals in two out of six seasons - assuming West Coast don't make finals in 2013).

So, overall 2002-2013 (round 19): 148 wins, 127 losses, 2 draws: Winning ratio: 53% (this actually disguises the state of the current Eagles line-up).

If you take it from round nine last year when West Coast were 8-1. They finished that season 8-7 and are now 8-10 meaning that the ratio is 16-17, which results in a winning ratio of 48%. Below 50% in my eyes is not acceptable.

If you look at the fact that West Coast haven't even beaten a side in the top eight this year, are constantly and easily beaten on their home ground, are regularly out-coached on match day, then it beggars belief that the Eagles administration aren't looking around.

Take into consideration the haphazard drafting of players like Swift, Stevens, Notte, Jones (both Jordan and Chad), Neates, Willson, Notte, Weedon amongst others and they have wasted a lot of picks under 30. A lot.

Don't even start me on guys like Ash Smith who specialises in standing off from a contest and only runs fast when he has the ball in his hand and then kicks it as long as he can to nobody in particular.

Not to mention the fact that we have the weakest midfield in the competition compounded by a moronic clearance strategy where Priddis is generally the first receiver and he is a terrible kick. He should only be allowed to hand pass.
Add in the fact that the team for the majority of the year has lacked enthusiasm, belief and desire, and I don't understand the blind faith in Woosha from the Eagles management.

West Coast are in severe danger of becoming a mediocre club. Those are words I thought I would never say.

Lynch was in shocking form and Matera failed a fitness test. He was nowhere near playing.

Well, if I remember correctly, Lynch averaged a goal a game that season while his replacement Gardiner had a massive impact with six possessions kicking 0.2. When you think about the fact that we only lost by four points, playing Lynch (and if Kerr hadn't got injured) could have made the difference.

i dont think so mate.....dont buy into emotion. If you want to be fair to how the WCE are travelling compare coaches and clubs.

To be fair, and not to take away from your other points, none of the bolded guys were taken with picks under 30. Chad Jones and Callum Wilson were rookie picks, Neates was a PSD pick and Jordan Jones was taken in the 50s. And you've counted Notte twice.

Ash Smith tried his guts out against the Suns....and ive been his biggest detractor....but when he gets the opportunity to play more than 2 games in a row i can see why the coaches believe in him. Pace and talent, just needs to go after the harder ball at times....but alot of potential.
The poor bugger has had a lousy run with injury...a little like Shep and Masto....and look at their progress now....Sheppo is starting to look good.
People forget, that teams like The Pies have a midfield that is more experience than ours....our boys are getting there though. Another pre season of weights and more skills practice will only improve them.
And if anyone thinks Ebo was a loss, well watch yesterdays game, his skills and floors are still there.

And Ada:thumbsu: m Carter....how solid is he in his team role for a kid thats hardly played AFL????

How am I buying into emotion? I am stating clear facts on his winning ratio, which in the last six years stands at 43% with two finals appearances in six years, not to mention the fact that we were premiership fancies before the season started and we won't even play in the finals this year.

All I am saying is that the club should do its due diligence and interview other prospective coaches rather than just handing Worsfold another two-year contract, which will see him sack some of his assistants and replace them with new ones.

Fair enough.....but Woosh never just gets handed another contract...WCE dont work like that.
