After last weeks game I'd love to see woosha sacked and have someone who will drop and or delist the passengers in our side.

I swear if any other club bar GWS dished up the rubbish we have this year there would be immense pressure on the coach and the Geelong game would have been the final straw. We were just pathetic.

After the game I was thinking "wonder if there's a media lynch mob calling for his head" and "should I check the online sites". Then common sense got the better of me a knew no one would say a ****ing thing.

There's something seriously wrong if Caro isn't calling for him to be sacked. Oh, that's right, she never comments on onfield stuff. Just off field drama. How she is CFW at a major rag is beyond me, but that's another argument.

Anyone thing "Vic conspiracy"? Every week Priddis is named on AFL.com.au as a best player. I thought this was because no one watches our games and thinks it's a safe bet. Now I'm starting to think we are the laughing stock the rest of the AFL community are hoping we keep digging our grave.

Rohan Connolly gave us a bit of a bake the other day on SEN, including Cox, Priddis and Woosh. I think more people are starting to realise the problems we have.

66 games mate is a truck load of footy, how many games now do you think we should wait for him to pick up the pace of AFL footy? And again I will say to you of all our mids I believe he has the most chance of becoming an A grade player. But to say hye has only played 66 games mate.....cmon. That is more than enough to show what you got.
heck we are soft on these guys. 20 years ago you got 5 games to prove yourself if you were lucky, now we get 50 plus. Unbelievable.
\
5 games if youre very lucky!.
This idea that you need 100 games to mysteriously turn into a gun is BS, You either have it or your just
another vanilla buff . Don't get me wrong, Shuey is a good player but he plays for frees too many times and has lots of defficencies ......He seems to lack that mongrel work ethic, time will tell if he makes it.
Either we cant develop our kids or their just not up to it, stop blaming injuries, because its a cop out .

Plenty of top mids play for frees. Look at Joel Selwood or Cotchin for example. Shuey was in good form before he got injured including a 33 disposal 2 goal game against the Hawks. I'd say he is tracking along nicely.

Funny how Cransberg guaranteed Woosha his job at the beginning of the year no matter what the outcome
so whos running the show down there ??
Its a jobs for the boys culture down there, meaning nothing changes next year........great.

I sort of agree with this. Shuey definitely plays for frees way too much.

And i think he's too timid with his attack on the ball. Doesn't want it enough, doesn't demand it enough. Won't get angry.
Scooter on the other hand, cannot be faulted for his attack on the ball.

He's got the skills. Sometimes his moves are sexy as fuark. But i think ^ that's holding him back from the next level.

If he is re-appointed without the club actively considering all possible options (I.e. make him reapply) then it will be confirmaton that we have truly become a Melbourne style boys club. At a minimum, 2 of Worsfold senior and junior, Nisbett, Cransberg or/and Glenn Stewart (fitness advisor) should have their roles seriously reviewed and judged against possible replacements.

If Worsfold is re-appointed and he serves up failure again with the same glib, smug and condescending attitude which his results don't justify, I would seriously consider letting go of my membership which has been almost continuous since foundation (1yr overseas) & picking it up when then new stadium is completed.

Some may say this make me a fair weather supporter, but I would argue that having rarely missed a game in 20 plus years I am entitled to be disappointed and concerned with the direction the club has taken under the current administration.

I'm as frustrated with this season as you are, but in what way has Woosha been 'smug' or 'condescending'?

He hasn't he has just played cards close to chest. An element of 'I do not know' I think.. We are so used to him pulling a rabbit out of the hat too..

Watched or listened to his press conferences?

For many supporters this is a genuine opportunity to get answers to why our season has gone so badly pear shaped, yet his glib and superscilious responses I find incredibly frustrating.

John you seem to lack pace and look slow? Na, yeah, na Garlett, yarran and Rioli are masters of optical illusion and selwood was actually running them down!

John you seem to have a prelidiction for preferring slow small bodied midfielders. Na, yeah, na I hadn't noticed we get pushed off the ball and actually it when we are not winning the ball that we look slow!

No shit Sherlock, you don't win the ball because we are slow and small bodied against the elite midfields.

That's always been his way, he's not one to come out and blast the players publicly. I'd say what he says to the lads behind closed doors is a lot different to those press conferences.

It's why he's easy to love when we're going well and easy to hate when things are bad.

Fair comments but I am not asking him to criticise players, but take some responsibility and yes if necessary, admit that the he and the admin has got it wrong.

I think you can look at this two ways either 1) he doesn't really know or 2) he knows but it can't be made public. Given that GoEagles tipped us off preseason I would say its more likely #2. And its not just players getting injured - we were shit when they were all available too. We got hot for a while when NicNat came back but that form soon faded. So something went wrong in the preseason but I doubt Eagles insiders will ever make that public.

Time for a reality check:

1. Poor recruiting. The buck stops at Woosha.
2. Throughout his tenure Woosha has showed inability to change and adapt. He's as slow as Priddis.
3. Forward line structure is ridiculous. Worked for 2011 and part of 2012 with our "bang it in long to our tall timber" policy. That strategy has been worked out yet he is yet to change tactics. he either needs to change the fwd structure or speed up the midfield. He has done neither.
4. Our midfield is slow and has poor skills. If you watched the Geelong game on the weekend we kept fumbling the ball. We should have got possession so we spread. Then out players fumble, turn it over, and our players have already spread meaning Geelong's players were free. If we had a Jobe Watson, Trent Cotchin, or Ryan Griffin leading our attack I guarantee this would change everything.
5. Our midfield structure doesn't work. We have more or less the two best ruckmen in the comp yet they are tapping it down to a congested situation. The opposition just waits to wrap Priddis up and when he does get it they know where he is going to kick it and they just sit there and intercept. Again, Woosha's lack of speed in adapting.
6. Adam Selwood was played for 3 years too may. He was incredibly bad this year yet Woosha kept playing him. Again, slow to react. This was nothing else but sheer incompetence.
7. Shuey and to a lesser degree S Selwood have stopped playing for free kicks. But Dean Cox does it every time the ball comes to him. Why hasn't Woosha demanded Cox stop doing this? It hurts the team.
8. Reluctance to turn over players. We could have got a pick 10-15 for Priddis 5 seasons ago. In recent seasons maybe a 20-25. Now maybe a 3rd rounder. A lot of people knew he was overs a few years back but Woosha couldn't see it. Why wasn't A Selwood delisted 4 seasons ago?
9. Reluctance to trade. Generally I'm an advocate of developing through the draft, when you hit the flag window you trade for those last few pieces of the jigsaw. Now is different. NicNat, Kennedy, Darling, Le Cras, Gaff, Shuey, Masten, McKenzie, Brown. I'm open to trading our first pick (and some) for a Griffen, Watson, Gibbs, or Yarran. The key is to approach these players and get them to agree and request a trade from their club. Woosha wants to go with the status quo. I'm only comfortable with that if Priddis goes.

I pretty much agree whole heartedly with the entire article you wrote, especially points 4 and 5. I think its a joke that we have/had the two 'best' ruckman in the comp and yet we seem to be always loosing the clearances or if on a off chance we do win it, it aspires into a long bomb with a loose backman taking an uncontested mark where he will play on and set up an attacking rebound for the opposition.
In saying this Nic has obliviously been injured and from watching the games Cox seemed unfit(or old) from round one where he blatantly stopped running out games. In contrast, in my opinion some of Cox's best games were probably in the last 4 weeks where he actually has come to the realisation that winning frees is does not mean winning the ball. he has actually showed a little spark to want the ball recently- probably because he's going into contract talks and wants to increase his pay check a bit more.

With Priddis its hard to judge what exactly we could traded him for 5 seasons ago considering he would have only had about 50 games experience. Considering he won rookie of the year in 2007 it would have been a questionable thing to trade away the only player who showed some real promise(even if he didnt develop it fully) in a period where the club needed it the most, with Cousins and Judd having both left by the end of 2007 season. Without Priddis the club would have no half decent midfield at all.
