I agree with E87 in the fact that i don't think Burns should get the job. Like he said, i'd rather a fresh set of eyes and fresh ideas with the new coach. Burns has been in Worsfolds ear for years and obviously must take his own fare share of responsibility when it comes to our performances, particularly in the midfield.

IMO i'd say that if we approached Roos i think he would consider it. Coaching one of the biggest clubs in the AFL, which possesses players like Naitanui, Kennedy and Darling is a bit different to coaching Melbourne or Brisbane.

You'd think we'd need a midfield overhaul though, and the current midfield coach mightn't be the best person to oversee that.

On what basis is this true? He knows the players? That can be a weakness or a strength.

I'm sure he has his own ideas about football that aren't implemented. He's just a line coach after all, you can't know what he'd do as head coach.

i find it fascinating. 3 years ago, Sumich was roasted and it was all his fault we are shite, he manipulates worsfold and only reason he has a job was because of his mate woosha. and now we want him to coach us? hilarious.

have we not learnt that we know jack shit except player names and their numbers?

Sumich is very football smart and a good judge of talent. He's not the best communicator and that's why he's not yet got a gig as a head coach.

oh I agree. maybe my post sounded wrong. I actually wouldnt mind suma having a go at eagles. i never actually joined the mob few years ago against suma.

I guess the basis was that I figured his ideas of how to build and structure a midfield would have been implemented already. This mightn't be true - and if not I don't know how we can judge an assistant

Its bigfooty. Peoples opinions change week to week depending on results.

Watched Woosha's press conference, and while the past fortnight has me completely lost as to where the club should go next, I appreciated that Worsfold acknowledged that this has put some doubts in his mind about where the club sits again in relation to his contract.

Recruitment and development really need to be looked at in depth IMO, so I'm keen to see what this upcoming review delivers for us in that regard so we can re-deploy resources in more effective ways.

If the review comes to a conclusion that significant change needs to occur around Worsfold or, alternately that the fish is rotting from the head, if you will, I'm comfortable with either decision, as long as it comes about after a due consideration of errors made in a rational manner. We aren't the Brisbane board of directors.

Sumich deserted WCE in their time of need ,they won`t be bringing him back to coach WCE .

When is this review taking place and who will be doing the review? Are you suggesting that the Brisbane board didn't give due consideration to the sacking of Voss?

That is a ridiculous statement and without foundation. He wanted to gain more experience and as it turns out he has no doubt achieved that by working with a very accomplished coach.
Maybe Sumich saw the writing on the wall maybe he knew something that we didn't? I know who has a smile on his face at the moment and it sure as hell isn't Worsfold.

Could someone like Cameron Ling bring to the table a more modern coaching approach ? who ever gets him will get a decent tactician I would think and he does have currency being a recent premiership player who knows weaknesses and strengths well enough given his commentary this year. I personally think he could cut it without doing the apprenticeship of being a second in charge coach. But would our lot play for him ? perhaps the rot is too great and 2 real hard years of cuts are needed.

The appealing thing about Sumich is that we get access to the Dockers intel, gameplan etc. The Dockers have some talented players but I do think their gameplan is also superior to ours atm. But is that enough to appoint him coach? I wouldn't have thought so. I think Paul Roos would be the #1 target if Woosha and co agree to part ways. Having said that, if they do parts ways, I expect Burns to get the job the way Nisbett was pumping him up.

Why get Roos? All he will do is turn us into Freo. Can't wait for more 75 vs 55 matches.
