In my view that 2005 loss was largely due to a decision by the coach and selection committee to replace a gaol kicking forward in Lynch with a ruckman at full forward in Gardiner. Given that Gardiner had just returned from a long term injury this was ridiculous and cost the team dearly. The coach must take responsibility for that.
Worsfold should go because of a selection decision made eight years ago? Seriously?

What about the fact Matera was injured or the fact that Kerr went down during the game?

Maybe you should go back and look at Lynch's form at the end of 2005. He had managed six goals in the past seven games, including two ineffective showings against the Swans. But sure, that was the main reason we lost and Worsfold should be sacked for it eight years later.

Some of you blokes need to get a grip.

If he is coach next year I am not attending any Eagles games. One of the worst coaches in the league and has been his whole career. With a decent coach the Eagles would've won at least 2 or 3 flags during the mid 2000's.
Not when ur best is a drug addict

Well, Roos is probably unrealistic.

As for Voss, he was at Brisbane for five years and they made finals once. You want to sack Worsfold after missing the finals and replace him with a guy who missed the finals four times? How is that an improvement?

Voss might have been an "inspirational on field leader" but so was Worsfold and now you want him sacked.
Agreed.

Hes a two times coach of the yr. Has coached for the same result as Clarko. Just facts.

Clarko's wining percentage is 60% compared to Woosha's 53%
Since losing Cousins and Judd our winning percentage has been 43%, no coach survives a six year period as bad as this, so why should Woosha?

Clarko never lost his two best players. Take buddy and hodge outa The Hawks and see how Clarko goes

Of very little consequence. It's not like we used decent picks on them.

Every decision has consequences. Have enough list cloggers on your list and there will be big consequences. A large portion of our list needs to be turned over and its going to be difficult to do that in one offseason.

It's sad when such a "powerhouse" team has with 60,000 members (questionable) only has 29,500 show up last night for the final game of the season, even during a significant farewell for 3 members.
Disgrace.

58,693 so just short of 60,000 and after the last 2 weeks most people actually want to enjoy their Saturday night.

Woosh has given enough guys enough rope.....time to f**k off Butler...Schofield....Ploddus...........

People pay very good money to sit for 3 hours in one of shittest grounds in the nation to watch a very crappy team play what resembles netball. Yeah no thanks.

Totally fair call on the ground....went back to subi a few yrs ago after being spoilt by the gee n etihad for ten yrs......what a f**kin hole!!!!...

My boss is a seated member and by about round 8 I had him convinced it was a poor gameplan. He texted me last night during the 2nd and said 'I've counted 25 or so times down the right wing' so he's obviously noticed it too. It is our default setting 'go to the boundary'.. problem is our blokes are neither skilled nor quick enough to execute that effectively (fumbles, miskicks OOB on the full, spilling marks). At least going through the middle it's a quick succession of short sharp disposals.

Agree and with our current midfield when the game goes through the middle (even instigated by us) it opens us up.
Our speed and poor skills get magnified on a "quick" (by our standards) play through the middle.
With Priddis & Kerr in our best midfield we need a lot of contested situations to justify them both out there IMO. So boundary throw from going wide and ballups from packs forming because obvious game plan is obvious is what we need. then if we do go through the middle with quicker players it is usually SSelwood, Brennan, McGinnity, Dalziell & Cripps that are the ones bursting through the middle. Some are just poorly skilled some still developing but it doesnt fill you with confidence.

It seems criminal to have the forward line we do, and then give them absolutely no chance at 1 on 1's because we broadcast the way the ball is coming in and to whom.

Errrr, when did I suggest we sack Worsfold and when did I suggest we replace him with Voss?
