He simply isnt that good a player, goes on a few runs occasionaly but is prone to brainfades and goes missing for large chunks of the game.
Insert many players' names in front of that comment and it still remains valid. Schofield has a big upside and we began to see that late in the season when he was being played as a high forward or across the middle. He provides plenty of run and some pace that we sadly lack.

Do you think PETER SUMICH would do better than JOHN WORSFOLD?
That's a bit difficult to do better as Woosha is a premiership coach, but if you mean in regards to this current group and time then honestly I don't know if Sumich would do better but he showed he could coach at least at WAFL level when he led South Freo to a premiership and I hope he has learnt a few things from Ross Lyon.

Personally I am not as passionate to see Woosha go as others are and would not complain if he got a one year reprieve from the board, but if he goes I would like to see the board at least interview Sumich.

Clarko's wining percentage is 60% compared to Woosha's 53%
Since losing Cousins and Judd our winning percentage has been 43%, no coach survives a six year period as bad as this, so why should Woosha?
Over the last three seasons, Worsfold's winning percentage is still 60+. That's respectable and certainly doesn't demand he be moved on.

We could have sacked him at the end of 2010 but we gave him more time. I think, given our results in 2011-13, the decision was vindicated.

So you don't get to go back and say 'well, we were shit in 2008-10' and use that as a reason to sack him three years down the line.

How long does he have on his contract?

Yeah sorry, some people just don't play nice and resort to personal attacks. I apologies for derailing thread. But now I don't have to put up with him. :thumbsu:
Except there wasn't anything resembling a personal attack. Bizarre.

His contract was extended at the end of 2010. That's when the call was made about whether his performance in that down cycle was good enough to warrant more time. That call was made then and, I think, given our results 2011-13, the decision was vindicated.

I'm not going to keep liking all of your posts but it's great to see some logic in these threads for once. :thumbsu:

There is at least an understanding that if an assistant is offered a senior position they are free to go. Possibly even a clause in the contracts.

Any club that stopped that would find it very difficult to recruit decent staff.

He talks of a rebuild and I don't believe we should be rebuilding again after a 3 year rebuild in 08-10. Yes I see a somewhat need to get some better players and build our list but what for? two more above average years and then start another rebuid?

He was hoping the old hands would carry the young guys to a flag. It's all for nothing now. We must rebuild.

I haven't seen Worsfold mention "rebuilding" - in the sense of bottoming out and soaking up early draft picks. Quite the opposite. I think his pitch is that we can bounce back quickly and play finals next year.

We'll be seeing a large dip in our average age in 2014, with Cox, Kerr and Glass likely to last 1-2 more years max.

The next set of 'core' players are still pretty young and haven't actually begun their peak yet, particularly in the midfield. I think the rebuild Worsfold is referring to is merely an influx of young talent to replace the inevitable retirements that are occuring.

Things would look less grim if Ebert was on the list still however we made a poor/unlucky choice at the draft table selecting a player who had his heart set on one club.

Agree, his departure really hurt us, he is a great player but if your heart isn't in then there is nothing you can do about it.
