Highly doubt that because i can guarantee he will be back coaching for the 2015 season after his year off. Maybe we might see him back in the media? He would only be sticking around to finish what he started with the reviews.

Yeah. I don't have the passion for this; my hearts not in it; I'm half way out the door; ... by the way here's the reviews of all players on which you should build the club for the next decade ....

That's assuming the 'heart's not in it' aspect is true. I won't speculate but there were many theories about why he's actually pulled the plug as coach.

Sorry to do this (actually I am not because someone told me to fall off a cliff. You know who you are) but I posted this after the Richmond debacle and got lambasted for it.

"Well after the Richmond game tonight I thought I would get in early and call it. John Worsfold will not be coaching the Eagles next year in my opinion. Just wanted to say thank you John for the following Highlights and lowlights while you have been coach.

Here is the list I compounded.

Highlights:
1. Instantly changed our team from day 1 into a competitive team while we were failing under Ken Judge.
2. Beating Brisbane consistently even in their premiership years.
3. 2006 Premiership.
4. 2005 GF
5. 2011-12 great football unexpectedly played.

Lowlights:
1. Losing the 2005 GF
2. First wooden spoon for the Eagles
3. Losing Chris Judd (arguably the greatest midfielder to play the game)
4. Dropping Lynch (our leading goal kicker at the time) on the eve of 2005 finals and not playing him or Phillip Matera in GF. (Poor decisions IMO)
5. The Ben Cousins saga. I believe he should have done more to help him and avert the catastrophe.
6. The investigation into our drug culture. Sad days that brought our whole club into disrepute. I believe he is partly responsible in the same way many are saying James Hird is partly responsible for the Essendon saga this year.
7. Losing to Collingwood 2007 final in Perth after a tie because of a poor decision to bring Glass off 5 minutes before 3/4 time.
8. This year. Inexplicable really.

Thanks for the memories John.

Just thought I would say to those who bagged my post back then which was locked.

Solid job by John Worsfold. Early days when he was in charge West Coast were an absolute basket case. But he took them to a flag - something most coaches never achieve. Probably a good time for a change now though.

Fair view.
But i cant accept that Woosha should have done more to help Cuz.
Cuz made the terrible life decisions that got him into that position and he lied to many people who tried to help. Cuz let the Eagles down. Cuz's problem is all on Cuz. I hope he gets well though.

I hope Woosh takes a well earned break and comes back to the club as an assistant.

That's a silly idea for so many reasons. Would you really leave/be forced out of your current job and then return to the same place for a lower wage and position?

Sure why not not. He loves the club, has made a killing already in the coaching gig, stranger things have happened.

It would be a ridiculous thing to do! This is Simpson's team now, Woosh coming back in any capacity would undermine his authority heavily. The Time of Woosh is over.

Ok well maybe not in a coaching capacity, the footy department somewhere. Pretty sure he would still have heaps to contribute at a development level.

I assume most of his focus will be in his pharmacy work.

Woosh apparently owns 3 pharmacies. Why work when the cash from these is rolling in, independent of his physical input, on top of the many millions he made as a head coach. He's loaded. Time to retire and enjoy life with his family.

Wow he has done so well for himself. Good on him, deserves it.

Woosh will never be an assistant...hes paid his dues....he made that clear when speaking about his future presentation to the board. When mentioning that he had plans to shake the place up and make changes to the footy department, some muppett mentioned Roos and also would Woosh stay as the senior coach....Woosh got that look in his eyes and was emphatic that only he would be senior coach if he stayed. As if he will take seconds!!! And remembering, Bris Lions offered him the senior gig a few days later, or possibly before. No matter what people think, Woosh is a senior coach in demand, if he wants to do it. He has a great record.

Sounds like you were there...if not source?

His record is decent but not great. Had the best midfield in the past 20 years and got 1 premiership to show for it.

Under achieved IMO.

(Cue the Brisbane shadow supporters: Our midfield regularly trumped theirs. Except they reaped the rewards of their midfield more than we did)
