So many words in the dictionary at our disposal yet there are some that shouldn't be in there.

I'm starting this with Rightly and Wrongly.

Surely Correctly and Incorrectly would suffice.

There's too many words!!!! Let's cull some, the OED is too big, and heavy.

I came across a dictionary earlier in the week numbered past 2200 pages.

I disagree. Rightly and wrongly can be used with moral connotations, where correctly and incorrectly would not suffice.

"He paid for it so it's rightly his."

You're right though, we could get rid of a lot of words.

eg we have the word "good". That's all we need. We don't need "bad", if something isn't good we can just use "ungood". If it's really good we don't need words like "great" or "excellent", we can just use "plusgood" or "doubleplusgood".

We need to get a government department or something onto this.

"Dear Mr Prime Minister, there are too many words in the dictionary. Please eliminate 300. PS I am not a crackpot."
