Words you have trouble understanding in other countries (and vice versa)

So this is not about words you like, hate or even about accents- just straight up words you cannot say. Think Doug Hawkins and "Manure"... or Mal Walden and Phenomenon.

I had to do announcements over the PA for a term once. School packed with Iraqis, etc etc type demographic. Was quite the difficult task at times.

I was 14 or so before I could pronounce Rs properly, they always came out as Ws. The kids at school had fun with that

Still can't roll my Rs, which makes me sound very uncultured when trying to pronounce a lot of foreign words.

I don't say th properly most of the time. I can do it correctly but it kind of takes a conscious effort which I usually don't bother with.

It was up until high school that I used to say 'hostable' and 'pasghetti'. I copped enough stick to finally change. I still have mates who can't say 'ask'.
