I mentioned it this morning, but I asked Cadsky if when I target a player, will I get "Gralin targeted Zerg Minion" if (in this example) Gralin is a villager. I was told no, I'll be informed if they are unable to target someone (ie villager). If they have a role and its unsuccessful, I won't know its unsuccessful, I'll just be told they targeted them. But if they're a villager I'll know.

For some it will provide closure at least.

Yes, but I've already locked you in as my primary target for the unlikely possibility headless and by extension Clarke are just hugely unlucky.

If he tracks a villager he gets that they didn't visit. If he targets a role with visitation he gets told who they targetted.
