No... I analyse everything that happens. Good and Bad. For example: Priddis played terribly in the first half but I acknowledge he was one of the few who stood up in the second half which was crucial in winning - something anti-Priddis folks will never give him credit for. The good and the bad.

The points Keyser made were obviously atrocious errors. Whether that was Priddis or someone else is irrelevant. They need to be pointed out and rectified.

The fact that one of our main movers made multiple horrific errors does not mean we are whinging about his play. If this was the Brad Sheppard thread and we point out whatever errors he made, are we whinging about Sheppard? Or are we analysing the game in full detail?

The polarizing effect of Priddis' game makes some of you jump to his defense blindly, interpreting every post about Priddis an attack. It simply isn't.

Upping the font and boldening your reply doesn't make any less true.

The play was obvious and it was a very bad turnover. The fact that you can't acknowledge the mistake only hurts your credibility.

Good post, posted mine above before getting to yours.

Actually of course he stuffed up that passage, but I was getting annoyed with the savage biased attacks of others, not your example or your post.
I just felt like going into bat for him at that moment, whoesever post it was going to be.
Apologies !!!!

Went to training today and he is working hard again and no joke

he did a Peter Matera type move, so on top of his handpass dummies he is now moving on to different moves.

He is the best at getting the impossible ball in a pack in the team at the moment.

Agreed, the best in the business at getting the contested ball. And the worst in the business at doing anything constructive about it. He may well train the house down and gets 110% out of himself. That's fantastic for him but rubbish for us. We are not going anywhere with him in the team. P.S. The Matera Move: Was it in Slo-Mo like The Matrix?

Priddis is number one for contested possessions in the AFL.. and on that note Scott Selwood is tied first for tackles with Jude Bolton who is regarded as the best tackler in the league imo

Watched the last Q of the Sun's game last night, and Priddis was great - he had a very, very good quarter where his handballs hit targets and set up play. He and Masten together (with Hurn and Glass) went a long way to getting us across the winning line. Priddis won't win the Stawell Gift but he is a desperado who gets the impossible ball. Another thing people overlook is his durability - he rarely misses a game (like Lynch) through injury, and the way he goes at it, in and under, that is amazing.

You need to watch it again .... or get a dictionary .. :)

I just dont see the point in analyzing 1 passage of play in isolation. And my post was not necessarily directed at you.

I also was not directly defending Priddis.

Right Eagle 87 - got mixed up in my viewing - been watching a lot of replays this week. It was the Dockers game I was watching last night and Priddis was superb; but then he won the Glendinning medal from memory.

But did as you suggested and watched the 4th Q of the Sun's game just now, and Priddis was okay:
4 handballs / 2 kicks / 1 tackle / 1 mark and 2 clearances + all his handballs and kicks hit a target to advantage = good effort, especially so since he was marking Ablett most of the time.

Still, those on these boards with the strong Priddis hate, I guess, will never acknowledge his worth.

Those of us with a balanced view realise he is, at best, a role playing mid with some serious flaws that limit him and the side.

Those who have NFI tend to see that as hate.

"Marking Ablett" :D... mate learn how to watch football and then people may take you seriously .... The next time Priddis marks anyone will be the first and a sideways 3m handball to a bloke in no better position is not a handball to advantage ...

How does that fit in with him placing 2nd in our best and fairest last year? ;)

The worst year in our clubs history in which the only elite player who stayed on the park won the b&f?

The key to winning the West Coast B&F is playing the vast majority of games and then being decent in them. Priddis gets 800 disposals a week and is a clear favourite of our coach. He also played most games. Not that hard to understand where he finished in the B&F. A bloody indictment on both the system and just how shit we were though ...

its a disgrace.

Priddis is having a better season with more tricks than last year and his commitment to the club is awesome.
He needs to be congratulated.

Anyway his work is highly appreciated by pretty much by every Eagles supporter I've bumped into apart from a few on this board.

Priddis is an OK player GO EAGLES. Having a great work rate and being a good team man doesn't make you an effective and important footballer. He has zero hurt factor and is our version of Brent Stanton. Nice in patches but rarely effective and important.

I'm can't say I am a huge fan of priddis but I can certainly appreciate
His work ethic and commitment. However, I would like to know how
We would fare without him in the current side. Therein lies how effective
And important he is for us. Although in saying this, if koby Stevens steps
Up to take priddis' role, priddis becomes less important for us.

Always easy to trot out the sarcastic lines - makes you sound all knowledgeable:
I suggest you go and watch that Q again Eagle 87 because I just did. Priddis was next to Ablett at every bouncedown and stoppage - whether he was the best for that role or not is another matter, but that is where he was.

Bwahahahahahaha ...

Just for clarity, you are suggesting that Priddis was playing either a tagging or a run with role in Q4 last week?

Just for clarity...

Just for Clarity - is it a statement or a question?

I'll take it as a question - I'd say it was a run-with role, wouldn't you?

Now onto today's game, I hope Priddis has a beauty.

:D

Well actually I hope Kerr & Shuey have a beauty. We will win if that happens. Priddis will play 90% of the game in the middle. He will get it a lot and be a pretty modest conveyance when he does with zero hurt factor....

Pridda had a run with on GAblett ... :D

We look better when Priddis gets the tag. :thumbsu:
He still does his in & under stuff which is his best work. I'd rather Priddis only get 15 possies if they are contested, than 30 which includes some so so outside stuff.

Priddis got the tag. He's a ****in liability when he's not getting the ball.

This thread has gone to the dogs.

Westcoasts midfield lacks dimension and is a long way from Collingwood and Geelong. Priddis has known qualities, we won't die in the arse without Priddis. I think in the long run we would be better with someone who wasn't standing on other players feet and i think our midield structure needs to be questioned going forward.

Need a player like O'Meara
