Chance v the Czech's ?

Asking you experts ☺
We are rated better in almost every metric, but after some of the wins this series we scraped in I'd take nothing for granted. Should be another great match.

Just need to get a good win and stay fresh to play most likely Spain for a shot at the gold medal game. Pretty exciting times

Much better than they’d have been against a US side keen for revenge, and better than they’d be against Serbia, Spain or even the French again.

The Czechs play good team system based b’ball and are a handful but I’m confident our best is too good for them. Win Wednesday night and we’re playing off for a place in the gold medal game.

The Czechs have already lost 2 and squeaked in on point differential. They're light on for NBA players relative to the other top sides, but as Toes said they play a well drilled team game. You'd expect the Boomers to find more ways to score than they did against France (racking up 100 against that defence was a hell of an achievement but they kind of had to shoot the lights out to do it). I mentioned it at half time last night that drawing the defence out to the perimeter to open up backdoor cuts and how-did-he-get-open pick and rolls has been a feature of our offence prior to the France game, but Gobert anchored down low with Batum playing the pest on the perimeter shut that down.

The Boomers should have the edge in the frontcourt - the luxury of Baynes+Bogut means there's no panic if one of them gets in foul trouble, so they can take more risks protecting the rim. And Delly and Mills are both inside-outside threats. And then there's Ingles, giving hope to scruffy, bad-bodied middle aged men everywhere.

If they're healthy they should go in solid favourites.

Thanks RobZ 👍

Argentina has beaten Serbia and Spain beat Poland to advance to the semi finals overnight.
Big upset with Serbia out at QF stage, but as TT said a few posts back, anything can happen in International competition. Argentina have quality everywhere, that side of the bracket is scary!
