I know what you mean X, but it is a ****ing joke, why do they even pay for the rights to the cricket if they aren't/can't be bothered to show the important games? I mean this match last night had over a billion viewers but yet us suckers in Australia got to see jack shit, unless you can fork out the $$ for Foxtel.

Not everyone has or can afford Foxtel, it's just a complete disgrace and they aren't even showing the final of the WC, ****ing disgraceful.

Not to also sound like a conspiracy theorist: but Its also possible the mainstream channels who are at fault, they refuse to have anything to associate with un-australian content as long as other forms of media exist

It is almost their job to keep the audience dumbed down and restricted in their horizons to know anything else other than Australian

Case in point, overexposing the coverage of the Australian Athletes on the Olympics, when athletes from all across the world in all kinds of other sports showcase amazing feats...

Also I think it is part of an Australian media interest to stop people seeing 'the other side', or supporting the other side, ie they only want to see Australia winning in the sports, I guess at least the coverage is not North Korean style, at least they show the whole game even though Australia goes down, or... what was that word... LOSES!?

The only main global event that I see is safe from this media treatment is the Football World Cup, because 1. the Socceroos are an average old football team, 2. the unappealing timeslot for the football world cup, and 3. the fact soccer is not parochial or has a huge emotional investment like Cricket or some other Australian sports.

EDIT - you dont even have to look at World sports to notice the intent of a media agenda, the media bias is definitely prominent even in interstate rivalries, ie the state of WA doesnt show any other sport than AFL, and they'd dedicate the first 5 minutes of the sunday sports bulletin for an indepth coverage to the game that is currently unfolding at subiaco oval  . Whereas in Sydney they wouldnt even half bother show a checkside kick by a Fremantle player that put the team in front

Hey, guess what? If you really want to filter the coverage (North Korean style), you might as well cut the coverage for Collingwood Matches (thats if you had a Collingwood channel  ) if Collingwood starts losing a match

Wow, amazing at how people are getting upset about a neutral game that was quite boring not being shown

Lets be honest, if you care about watching games not involving Australia then get Fox because you are in the minority, besides Indian games do cost broadcasters a fortune, hell some series you have to pay extra on top of your Foxtel to get through Santana, if the game doesnt involve Australia then why would broadcasters pay the money for them?

We know that, but what if we gradually lose coverage of the Australian games?

The Australian team played a couple of meaningless matches against Kenya and Canada, they werent going to be particularly iconic games to preserve with the anti siphoning act. It was obvious Australia was going to win the match even before a ball was bowled before the tournament even commenced?
