I wonder if there's a better option than NRR to seperate teams on the same points so we don't have to deal with scenes like this.
You could get rid of the bowled out rule

Currently if the Auusies get bowled out for 250 in the 40th over trying to win the game the NRR is worked out on 50 overs.

Indian 7.0
Aus 5.0

So NRR of -2.0 from this game.

Whereas if the bowled out rulewas removed it would be

India 7.0
Aus 6.25

NRR of -0.75

Under current rules we're better off churning out 5/280 from 50 than we are going out all guns blazing trying to win it.

Edit: mind you this would mean you cpuld win with negative NRR which doesn't make sense... more thought needed

People do realise that 9/300 is better than 3/250 for NRR don’t they?

Davey Warner has been batting for himself since he came back and anyone claiming otherwise is FOS!

Australia were only a slim chance in this world cup but playing Warner and ####ing Stoinis reduces us to absolute 0% chance.

Nice flag. Lucky, since you’re certain to lose Scotland, and I really hope the others * you off too.

Under no circumstances should we get bowled out from here even if really going for it. In other words, go for it. 10.5 an over isn’t out of the realms of possibility.

We've left too much out there.

Can't be needing this many at this point with eight wickets in the shed.

At least Warner and Smith have 50’s for themselves. Never mind their slow rates cost the team any chance of chasing it down.
Almost as much to blame for the loss as the garbage the bowlers served up today.
Smiths 50 isn't even at a bad run rate.

More so this is on the bowlers, but this batting display is purely a net run rate preserving exercise
