If you really don't care about privacy, why don't you tell us all your full government name and address? Surely if you have nothing to hide, there shouldn't be any issue with that right? Also, while you're at it - why don't you tell us the name of the other accounts you've maintained on BigFooty too.lmao the gateway pundit
The Gateway Pundit (TGP) is an American far-right news website known for publishing falsehoods, hoaxes, and conspiracy theories. Founded in 2004 by Jim Hoft, it has been a prominent source of misinformation, particularly related to the 2020 U.S. presidential election and COVID-19.
Key Details
- Founder: Jim Hoft.
- Political Stance: Far-right.
- Content: The site has a history of promoting false claims, which has led the Wikipedia community to deprecate it as an untrustworthy source of information.
- White House Access: During the Trump administration, TGP reporters were granted White House press credentials.
- Monetization: Google demonetized the site in September 2021 for persistent policy violations, including content promoting anti-vaccine theories, COVID-19 misinformation, and false claims about the 2020 election.
Legal and Financial Status
The Gateway Pundit has faced multiple defamation lawsuits due to its reporting, leading to recent legal and financial issues:
- Bankruptcy: In April 2024, the parent company, TGP Communications, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which Hoft attributed to "progressive liberal lawfare attacks".
- Bankruptcy Dismissal: The bankruptcy case was dismissed in July 2024 by a judge who found it had been filed in "bad faith" to avoid the defamation lawsuits. The judge noted the company had assets like a 2021 Porsche Cayenne and a Florida condo that it wasn't offering to liquidate.
- Defamation Settlements: In October 2024, the site reached a settlement with two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea' "Shaye" Moss, whom the site had falsely accused of fraud. Following the settlement, nearly 70 articles included in the lawsuit were removed from the website. A separate defamation case brought by Dominion Voting Systems executive Eric Coomer is set to go to trial in March 2025.
