It was a wet session meaning that qualifying was an hour session rather than the usual 1 lap blast.
Troy Bayliss proves once again that he owns Valencia, regardless of missing digits and an enlarged groin. The rain has proven to be the privateers best friend with Ruben Xaus 2nd and young Aussie Josh Brookes a sensational 3rd.

The supersport qualifying saw championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu grab pole from Kats Fujiwara. Aussie Kev "ironman" Curtain managed 3rd fastest despite a broken collarbone with fellow Aussie Andrew Pitt a credible 5th in his fill-in ride for injured reigning champ, Seb Charpentier on the Ten Kate Honda. Curtains teammate, Broc Parkes, also suffering a broken collarbone qualified 11th.
