I've seen many of your posts and you come across as a bit paranoid, delusional, and to put it bluntly, lost. Which makes you a little bit scary.

We certainly have the power to end all life on it - with the possible exception of cockroaches. But the planet would continue to orbit the sun for a while yet.

Have they changed that much since people fought for their country (or at least their leaders) going into Afghanistan and Iraq? Or shooting down Russian jets over Turkey?
Nationalism in Europe, including Russia, is arguably the highest its been in 70 years. The United States nationalism and "manifest destiny" (while originally something different) has never gone away in the slightest. Maybe a blip from some during the latter part of the Vietnam war. China's rise is fuelling Chinese nationalism and resentment over missing the party for a few hundred years.
People might not sign up en masse like WWI, but more than enough are already in the forces and have shown their willingness for serious fighting to be a serious risk. Inevitable WWIII, probably not. More likely another proxy will be found so thew major powers can annihilate each other's soldiers and another nation's civilians. There's no shortage of flashpoints in the Middle East.
