Think previously 5 coaches have 1-5 for each player, now it's 4 giving 1-3?

Monkey jnr once told a story on back chat of getting 4 votes though, so one of the coaches gave him a 0

Sheed was our second best player this year the club reckons 😂

Get the f$%k outta here 😂😂😂

For our b&f the best ability is availably

And as a club that screwed 2007 because of lack of availability and probably much of the last 3 years for the same reason (Hutch breaking down v Richmond in late 2019 was a turning point in a game that could have changed everything) I'm not massively against the idea that games played are important.

Don't forget that the worst Sheed can finish in our own BigFooty Award is 4th.

It's not like the club is wildly out of synch with this board.

"We acknowledge we didn't get it right. Inconsistency, the gap between our best and our worst. Above all, we need unity. From the players, coaches, staff - to get the best out of ourselves and the absolute best out of each other. I cannot wait for next season." Adam Simpson

That does suggest what we all suspected. Positive moves to overhaul the midfield coaching structures at least.

"I cannot wait for next season."

Me too Simmo, me too.

Kinda telling for the club that a guy who's not known for being the fittest person in the world, who plays barely 65% of game time AND had two knee reco's be a back to back B&F winner.

He was also AA, so what does that say for the rest of the league?

Naitanui had a massive year by anyone's standards - also the #1 rated player in the league. Perhaps you should rethink your post and refer to Sheed being 2nd instead of shitting on the player who outright deserved the club champion award.

*en dumb post.

Spot on.

I'm glad Gaff and Darling don't tie for the award every year because they spend close to 100% TOG each game. Awards like this (and AA, ratings etc) are about impact, and Nic would be going at a multiple of impact per minute compared to the 2nd best in the league (1.2 or 1.3 times their impact per minute).

Has Jack Redden been one of the more astute trades in our history? We coughed up pick 17 after a GF performance in a notably shallow draft, and got a seasoned mid who has played well in big games, rarely been injured, and had the consistency to see him place well in the BnF.

Does anyone have the info handy on where he has placed in the JW since 2016?

Hope he goes around again.

He finished second in 2018 from memory?

Second in 2018 and tenth in 2019, they’re his only other top ten finishes.

He spent a bit of time in the WAFL if memory serves. I thought that was more 2016. Do you know if it dragged into 2017 as we struggled to integrate a new player (our one wood)?

He finished 14th in 2017, played 19 (of a possible 24) AFL games and three games at East Perth.

Played 15 AFL, 7 WAFL games in 2016 and wasn’t in the top 20 pollers

(edit: also finished 19th last year, just so we’ve got the full set)

True to an extent but also really obvious that the one guy being played completely and utterly to his strengths can shine so far above. Start demanding Nic improve where he is weak and forcing him to run those patterns regardless and guess what?

Very good point. It's like asking JK to pinch hit in the ruck or drop back into defence

Slow start but has now played 113 games, had a couple of top 5 B&F performances and played in a flag. Not the sort of player that is going to be on a poster on many kids' walls, but that's a solid career on its own let alone playing 129 games for the Lions before he got here. If he goes around next year he'll probably finish up a 250 game player and we've only got 9 of those in club history.

More than happy with the trade.
