We always speak about the best, Brisbane, Hawthorn, Geelong, but never the worst? Vote below on your worst ‘era’ this century. Won’t include the expansion sides.

Carlton (2002-ongoing)
- Four wooden spoons (2002, 2005, 2006, 2015).
- Seven Bottom 4 finishes (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2015, 2017)
- 37% winning record since 2000. 153/410 wins (not including finals)
- Salary cap breaching.

Essendon (2004-ongoing)
- Haven’t won a final in over 5000 days.
- Drug supplement saga.
- Wooden spoon 2016.

Brisbane Lions (2010-ongoing)
- Crazy Vossy and Brendan Fevola
- Six (soon to be seven) bottom 4 finishes (2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and probably 2018)
- Reigning Wooden Spooners.
- 27% Win/loss ratio 52/138.

Melbourne (2007-ongoing)
- Back to back Wooden Spooners 2007, 2008.
- Melbourne 2008 join University 1913, North Melbourne 1931, St. Kilda 1898, 1948, 1985 and Hawthorn 1950 as the only seven pathetic sides to be last every single round of the home and away season they won the spoon.
- Tanking
- 186 point loss to Geelong in 2011.
- Sent emails and letters to their members explaining how to buy Melbourne finals tickets...and they didn’t make the finals...

Richmond (2002-2016)
- No finals wins.
- Only team in history to get historically laughed at for finishing 9th all the time and then losing to 9th place in their first final in 12 years.
- Two wooden spoons (2004,2007)
- Drafted Richard Tambling ahead of Buddy Franklin.
- Celebrated over the top against a team that actually wanted to lose.
- Six Bottom 4 finishes (2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2009, 2010)
- Also got smashed by Geelong.

Tiges have this one.
I have scars, dead brain cells, maintenance bills, anger management issues, chronic piles, and occassionally display sociopathic traits, as evidence.

Not that anyone would know. Keep it to yourselves.

I too would like to brag about how bad my team is

No finals for 12 years, tanking saga, 186 point loss. statistically worst season since Fitzroy (excluding new GWS), Mark Neeld and to top it off the end to our 2017 season - the most embarrassing end to a season ever.

In the long term I think Carlton will cop the most flack for this era. 4 wooden spoons will be an enduring legacy.
In the end premierships, runner ups and wooden spoons are probably the 3 most notable things over a long period of time.

Carlton. And yeah, Carlton is definitely out of the big 3 or even big 4. Big 4 atm are undoubtedly Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond and Hawthorn.

With the gap between Richmond and second place hawthorn, it’s clearly the big 1 and the rest of you can assemble yourselves.

When Richmond is successful it’s the big 1, when they’re not, it’s the big 4

Shame the Tigers aren't even in the Big 5, when it comes to total Premierships, eh!
