We all know that drafts in recent years the draft has taken off and the players coming through are actually studied. The drafts before those years were poor and did not really make the best players get picked up early. The Worst Selections I am referring two are of recent years when the draft was actually good and good players are picked up early(apparently not in this case)

WORST EVER PICK UP IN GOOD DRAFT
1. ANDREW MC'DUD'DOUGALL pick number 5
2. ASHLEY SAMPI pick number 6

Worst pick up's in two 'good' drafts ever?

I assume you mean AFL and not State competitions.

Hard to say from WA

Todd Bremen was a No 1 failure for WCE

Mc Dougall may be a failure but he's very immature IMHO and could be good later, as with Polak who I wouldn't mind at WCE

heres the thing, mcdougall was one of the best young players in AUS at the time he was drafted. he won most medals coming his way, dunno what happened to him now, plus the 2000 draft wasnt that great anyway. sampi i disagree with, i think he has a lot of potential to become a great small forward. his crumbing skills are exceptional but needs to lose some weight and gain consistency. ive seen a lot worse players than sampi up there.

in the 2001 draft, with pick 9, melbourne selected luke molan. 3 seasons and 2 acl knee reconstructions and a shoulder reconstruction later and it was all over.

Brett Deledio will prove to be in time,

i see where you are coming from but i'd have to disagree. people have said that deledio is somewhat judd like but i dont think that is correct. i think deledio will get a great player but no superstar.

The only similarities between those two players are that they both wear the number 3 on their back and both get across the turf well.

Judd is light years ahead in terms of contested ball, foot skills and general football smarts.

That poor boy has been severely overrated.

Ryan Fitzgerald.

Also Damian Cupido who was taken with pick 6 and has been sacked from 2 clubs without having had any injuries of note.
