I remember Dipper, yes, our very own Dipper making a 'guest appearance' as a truck driver on 'The Flying Doctors' back in the mid/late 80's. I also seem to recall Simon O'Donnell appearing on the show. Both were appalling.

Bit harsh of some to state 'why not the best (easier)' or '98%' ...

My worst aussie actors would include MANY of the soapie actors. Penny Cook was ok though, and yet the movies she got (Coda, The Dreaming, etc) were SHOCKERS. 'Alf' is played by Ray Meagher, and is a bit bland, but has one of the best lines when walking into a kitchen with a slab and opening the fridge : "Some of this food's gonna have to go." (A Place At The Coast).

Bad or at least mediocre movie actors - John Jarratt, Graeme Blundell, Harold Hopkins, Tony Barry.

I agree John Waters is up there among the better ones.

I think Bryan Brown's defence of aussie actors is a stronger attribute than his own acting, actually.

McFarlane, not too special to me, but ok.

Ok, I'll pay that one mobbenfuhrer there is generally an exception to the rule. But the show probably wasn't helped by that shocking scripts or even lack of a script.

Saw a scene once where a girl was thrown into the rig of a semi ... and we saw a full flash of girl bits as she was thrown ... most amusing was how I don't think it was at all intended ... and yet it seems they stayed with the one take.
