Couldn't agree more. An absolute dud - he just can't call. He's boring, monotone, and doesn't understand the mechanics of modern football.

Dermie is actually pretty good. I like the fact he brings some personal perspective to the game; and yes, he often does focus on young kids - and that account by buggermedumplings was actually pretty good - but I think it's actually quite insightful.

He doesn't get it *too* wrong to often, and he does highlight the intracies of the game which I think the general public, with their distinct lack of football knowledge, should be informed of.

(Because, yes, fat sides of the ground do exist, conditions can affect the flight of the ball, kicking a ball off the instep does make swing, and working your opponent under the ball with a little nudge is a what a smart player does in a contest.)

Eddie was not so bad... As long as Collingwood wasn't playing...Although he'd somehow still try to mention Emirates or Crazy John etc at some stage...

Eddie was not so bad... As long as Collingwood wasn't playing...Although he'd somehow still try to mention Emirates or Crazy John etc at some stage...

Eddie's call for MMM of Carl-Ess 1999 PF is probably the best last quarter call I've ever heard.

Extremely underrated as a caller. I had no problem him calling Collingwood games either - even against us. He wasn't the most objective, but hell, he knew every player back to front, and he's got a solid grip of how footy works on and off the field. That's what pegged him in the Lane/Commetti category for mine, even though many won't agree. But I think they disagree for non-calling reasons, which is sad.

No he's not - he's a fat ******** sucker who has a bad head for TV, a poor calling voice (learn to pronounce words properly and not in your cringeworthy outer suburbs Victorian accent) and is biased to all the products he pushes including his underachieving football club. The less I see and here of this ********wit the better. I hope he fails. Not Tall poppy - just hatred towards this one particular individual.

Stephen Silvagni takes the cake. I've got nothing against the bloke but he struggles to string a coherent sentence together consistently. He obviously must have some great footballing knowledge, he does doesn't give enough insight or differing opinion. Tends to state things than any football fan with half a brain could figure out.
