Worst Commentator EVER!

We've heard the worst, what about the best? I don't have the opportunity to see much footy on fox but as for 9,10, abc radio, 3aw i'll go

1. Tim Lane (though i think he was better on the radio and i did prefer his cricket work)
2. Dennis Cometti ( Is this contentious? I thought everyone loved him)
3. Daylight
4. Blight (Never heard a bloke so angry)
5. Rex (His work before and after a game makes him the best personality though)

Hard to listen too and terribly hard on the eyes.

It's a shame he's not on Nine so we wouldn't have to suffer his verbal diahorrea next year....Oh and did I mention he's butt-ugly too!


Robert Walls. He just needs to shut the F up!! Tool of the highest order!

rex hunt is the best, love his nicknames, his passion and his utters stupidity, but all round love of the game. I also heard the carey thing about some thompson guy from the eagles???

The worst caller would be Christian by a mile, closely followed by Silvagni. Whenever they work together it's the worst experience imaginable.

Christian is easily the worst commentator out there. Easily.

Maher is the worst boundary rider.

Yeah Manton was a clown on saturday.

I enjoyed all his insight on what he would do if he was Dean Laidley. Went on a huge rant, I then enjoyed his clarification that he is indeed not Dean Laidley.

Dwayne Russell the worst, with an honourable mention to Tim Gossage. The lack of talent at Ch9 has never been more pronounced, highlighted by Russell getting the friday night gig.

Anthony Hudson is the best by far. By far the least biased commentator. Just listen to his call in last years prelim when davis kicked that goal which shattered cats fans. By his call you could not tell that huddo supports the cats.

The worst commentator ever has got to be: Sandy "Oh my hat" Roberts. They guy is just awful. I hope channel 7 do us all a favour and don't bring this guy back into our lounge rooms next year.

He is an absoulute ********er tries to sound smart with ridiculous stupid comments and a book that borded on ridiculous. Please do we have to suffer through this guy anymore. He was only a very average player to begin with

Steve Quartermain adds NOTHING to a broadcast.

Listening to him commentate reminds me of when you're at a game and get stuck sitting in front of some yuppie wancker that goes to the footy 2-3 times a year and won't shut up. His whole angle in footy seems to be about digging up baseless rumour and innuendo, trying to fan the flames of controversy where there is none. He is not funny and has NOTHING interesting to say. Words come out of his mouth, but none of it really means anything.

My pet hate of his commentary is his constant carping about the umpires: "Ohhh, that's not a freekick.... Ohhhh, why was that a free kick ? ... Ohhhh, you've got to be kidding; what was that one for ?"

Why bother paying a bloke to commentate if he's just going to carry on like one-eyed yobbo ?
Why don't Ch.10 just point the mics outside the commentary booth ?

I'm not at the game Quarters... I can't see what the umpire is signalling.
You're there. You can see the umpire's signal. Do your job FFS and call the action.
Let ME make up my own mind whether or not it's a free.

It's not as if he even knows the rules. He should leave all judgment calls to the expert sitting next to him (as bad as they may be) At least they have some credibility. Quarters is a pompous goose with a massively inflated opinion of himself. I wish he would simply call each players surname and that's it. Or he could shoot himself.

But the worst ... Chris McDermott by a million miles. Changes his tune every five seconds, biased, arrogant, just plain dumb - and a total media sl.t to boot.

My favourite - Luke Darcy. I reckon he's terrific from what I've seen so far this season.

I would like to 2nd and 3rd the vote for Chris McDermott as the worst. I can understand the KG etc on 5AA over here being one sided but Chris you are on National TV.

If thats not bad enough (hes not the only bisiaed one) he is just plain bad.
