'Go Your Own Way' - Wilson Phillips.
(For those who don't know the original song, it's by Fleetwood Mac).
They also do a pretty poor version of 'You're No Good'. Linda Ronstadt did it justice, but the syrupy WP sound just doesn't work!

Although Ram Jam's version is the best and the guitar and drum solos kick ass, it isn't a song that you can out solo. It also has a 'boganish' sound. As much as I rate the Ram Jam version, I can't listen to it any more.Originally posted by Zombie
Spiderbait butchered Black Betty, took one of the best guitar and drum combo songs and turned it into a Cotton-Eye-Joe-esque piece of crap.

Jimmy Barnes' destruction of "When a man loves a women"is the most henious of a long rap sheet of crimes against other artists' music.

****, that one is almost as bad as Hilary Duff, if not worse. I don't know if it's in that track or another, but Scooter mentions "the K, the L, The F and the ology." What a ****er.

Heros - The Wallflowers
I don't care whose kid the lead singer was, they murded it.

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction is about sleeze and sex and rock and roll ... Britney Speers made it into a pop song. Worst by far in my book.
That version is so lame it's embarassing. IIRC they played it live on SNL.Originally posted by DEVO
DEVO's version is even better than the original... in my opinion anyway.

the DEVO version isn't bad - anything with a DEVO-esque spin on it is fine by me, but I think Otis Redding's version is by far the best.Originally posted by DEVO

As for the cotton-eye-joe stuff? It's actually an acknowledgement to the original. The original was written and performed by Hardy "Leadbelly" Leadbetter and had a lot of 'cotton-eye-joe esqe' slide.

Bublé's spins on Sinartra, Van Morrison, and Tony Bennet songs are good too. Don't beat the originals but with a voice like that, he comes close.
