He was AA in 20 and 21….
So was Tom Hawkins plus 18, 19 & 22 and he only got a one year deal.

There just isn’t a need to give NN more coming off his 2022 season. He public said he wouldn’t be trade bait and just had a kid. He’s not leaving Perth & Freo are not chasing him. Jobs for the boys is part of WC’s issue and you should be up in arms about it.

Crows are getting a free pass in here.
Only poor judges don't realise that the Crows rebuild is tracking in the right direction.

Still at least a year off making finals as we had the most inexperienced list til next season... when Hawks have taken over.

Topped off by Sydney supporters smugly chiming in, after building their list through AFL hand outs - this thread has everything!

Still bitter Blakey opted for the Bloods? Truth was he never contemplated North.

His clear second choice was Brisbane, a decent Club with a future.

didnt you just get two best 22 players from fremantle using invented draft picks you went cap in hand to the afl begging for?

Thread is a cesspit full of trolls.

Send it to the bay.

There is only one answer to the OP’s question and we all know which side it is.

Finding one example does not make it a poor decision, particularly when that deal is likely due to Hawkins wanting the ability to retire this year if he chooses considering the rumours he was considering it last year.

I’d say it’s very unlikely anyone bar Hawkins that got AA’s in those two years are getting one year deals.

Stating a two year deal is unreasonable on output when he’s been AA the two years prior to last is stupid.

Can saints supporter please tell me what he bare minimum is this year in ladder finish. Supposedly they are gonna make the top 4?
I think we can finish anywhere from 6th to 12th this year but if it was a single spot, I would be looking at 7th with some luck.

You were bottom 4 for goals. Of course you don't have the players. Would be absurd to think you could underperform to that extent and think that's sufficient enough to win a flag with the core your mids 27 and older. Probably a three year window to be winning the flag with Steele/Crouch yet the forward line is that far off.

You don't need a key forward you need support. That can come from different types but they need to be match winners and preferable operate as at least genuine targets.
That would be the gameplan that Ratten implemented that produced that stat. Slowing down the play to possess the ball and letting defenses set up behind the ball, only very good teams can do that and not for long.
The game is fast paced and if you play it slow, you get burnt.

This thread is a psychologists picnic.

North fans s**t canning the Saints list seems the most bizarre of all.
Because they're seething when anyone discusses how poor a club they are; whether that be on field performance, membership numbers or finances. They feel Saints are the closest to them and classically they attempt to throw them under the bus. Funnily enough though it seems to only be on BigFooty. North fans on r/afl reserve their hatred for Essendon.

And living rent free in your head clearly. Your bias is funny
Bias? Rent free?

Everyone’s laying into the Saints, Hawks, Eagles and North yet as it stands the Crows have barely been mentioned and I think there's some big question marks over their list.

Crows are going to rely heavily on Rankine, Rachele, Thilthorpe and Forgarty to lift them in the coming years once Walker, Laird and Smith disappear, because you’ve not got the output required from a bevy of 1st round picks(McAsey, Jones, Milera, Pedlar?), and have a bunch of youngsters that continue to get games, but need to step up if they're going to make it(Hately, McHenry, Hamill, Cook, Hinge, Murphy, Schoenberg).

All these flavours, why you gotta be so salty Horace?!

You were paying $1.01 to get upset about an academy reference.

Just embrace the hand outs, stop trying to pretend they don’t exist.

We really comparing Norths 2022 priority pick “package” to Swans academy & Cola?!

I must say that it was nice to get something from the AFL, but I would have preferred Wagyu, rather then hotdog.

Cola hasnt existed for a decade.

Academy is minor compensation for the fact that no players are drafted from nsw or qld.

The numbers of draftees from qld and nsw are still way way too low.

Its a big problem.

Not sure what the go is with the saints being mentioned in this thread. They have potential and with Ross Lyon back I don’t see them finishing lower than 10th. Good coaches and a few good ins can make a massive difference. Would not be surprised at all if Saints make finals this year. Hope they do.

Nick just running onto the ground gets the cash registers cachinking!
He is a West Coast supporters dream.
We actually need him for the next two years to mentor the young upcoming ruckman and I for one am happy to see him running around for the next two seasons 😀
Another knee though and that will be the end.

I find this hard to properly assess
I have a deep knowledge of the Richmond list but not of others

I saw the Freo Hawks game in the west late last year and my thoughts were wow , Hawks will jump up next year

GWS - they have taken a hit with quality experienced leaving but the bits I've seen of them I was impressed with their younger brigade, my worry will be how do they stand up without the those senior players ?

Adelaide - watched them beat Gold Coast in Adelaide early in 2022 , they had a home crowd willing them on , I think that hints at some good young talent , but do they have enough ? we might know that by late March

I voted for North - Richmond played North in the VFL late in the season , due to injuries the Tigers side was very thin and it was a tight game
The Tigers had two 2021 draft players stand out in that game which given how North 1's went all season , I don't think they have great depth

Saints - have topped up with senior players in recent years and that has them competitive and sitting around the middle of the ladder , they have some good young players but no knowledge of who and how many might be on the cusp of senior footy

Essendon - another club in turmoil , did see flashes of good footy from them , to my eye they looked very young and light , did see a Tigers Bombers VFL game they looked like a good standard and neither was loaded with AFL experience , so they might have depth

Lol, best to stop posting on the Crows as just showing how you have nfi!

Yeah, we only had 4 promising players lol.

Soligo & Berry both showed last year they will be long term midfielders. Schoenberg goes OK. Watch out for Pedlar this session as for once injury free touch wood. Taylor is the one I'm looking forward to debuting this year. So plenty of midfield prospects.
