Worst MFC player ever

I was thinking who does everyone believe or worst regular senior player over the years is??? It would have to be a player that managed to get close to 50 games to be considered.

For me its got to be big Al Nicholson or though a strong case could be put forward for Simon Godfrey:thumbsu:

The trade was:

Geelong: pick 17 (James Kelly), pick 41 (Henry Playfair), Grgic
Melbourne: pick 55 (Brad Miller), Bizzell

The trades were unofficially connected because of salary cap factors.

Geelong would be very pleased with Kelly's output but I'm pretty happy with our end of the bargain. :)

By the way Luke Williams by a mile!

Simon Godfrey was a trooper who always tried his guts out and occasionally got down to kick a goal.

Grgic was the greatest wasted talent.

Worst players to grace the red and blue has to be luke williams and michael newton.

One bad game and he's labeled the worst MFC player ever? Get your head out of your ass.

How was that goal against the Pies when he blind turned a scum player then kicked it from 45 on his left?

Did this actually happen or did I just dream it up? :eek:

Has everyone here forgotten Paul Prymke? By far the most uncoordinated person in the history of the planet.

You can't be serious including Paul Prymke in this discussion. The bloke was a solid league footballer until cut down by a serious back injury. No way should he be considered.

On the other hand there are quite a few I would like to nominate.
* Al Nicholson:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
* Mark Bradley:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
* Michael Newton:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
* Travis Gasper :thumbsdown::thumbsdown:(I think it was his name but the brother of Darren)
* Wayne Henwood:thumbsdown:
* Phil Gilbert:thumbsdown:
* Luke Molan :thumbsdown:(although not the games required)

There the ones that come to mind at the minute

Well at least they all earnt the right to wear a Melbourne FC jumper and put their bodies on the line.
True.

I am not averse to giving an opinion like the next poster but this thread is a little rough I would have thought.

Marcus Seacamp??

Goodbye all credibility ever.

I'm sure there were some world class peanuts in the wilderness years from 65-86, but in my time I'd have to go for...

Dean Irving? Craig Turley? Hayden Lamaro? Steven Pitt?

Williams is up there. Grgic is top of the "wasted potential" pile.

I'll have to consult the records for a full and frank dissection. Weetra played the two of the worst games I've ever seen, but he doesn't qualify.

After exhaustive research , my standout nominees are:

Big Al Nicholson Danny Seow Craig Turley Nigel Kol
The Cockatoo-Collins Brothers, David or Donald
The "Prince" Scott Chisholm Lukey Williams

Most Honourable mentions to:

Try these on for size:

Henry Ritterman Franky Giampaolo Vinny Catoggio
Joe and Frank Rugolo Teddy Fidge Stewart Gull
Peter Dilnot David Cordner Glenn Elliot
Wayne Delmenico Paul Goss Wayne "The Moose" Henwood
Glen Swan Cameron "Skinny" Hunter Tommy Kavanagh
Peter Maynard Craig McKellar Shane McSpeerin
Shannon Motlop Barry Norsworthy Trent Ormond-Allen
Barry Ough "Rocket" Rod Owen Nicky Pesch
John & Peter Tossol Terry Wilkins Peter Yeo

And the overall winner is: A "tie" between The Prince and Big Al.
2 medals , each in the shape of a lemon, will be struck in their honour.

Unfortunately for me, writing all these names down has seen me regress back to the point that I need to start up my therapy and anger management sessions again. Bye for now.

Darren Kowal was pretty shit.

Prymke was really promising until he got injured, much like every other promising player in 94 (schwarz, lyon, tingay, lovett, prymke)
