Why isn't this crap in Bay 13?

I thought we had mods on this board?

Gradually, Bay 13 is taking over ALL the boards.

Oh, and, if it was ever in doubt, Hodge.

Luke Hodge, the most overated player currently playing in the AFL.

Mate get some perspective and stop being jealous that you dont have Hodge and you got Wiggins instead.

CLEARLY HODGE IS INJURED THIS YEAR... ffs its obvious. i watched him play after the hype and he aint as good as the Hawthorn supporters make him out to be but hes a darn lot better than most players in AFL esp wiggins

Surely Glenn Archer rates at least a mention here. Not for his career, just for his Norm Smith Medal win in 1996. I was only 8 years old at the time, but I remember after the game being suprised he got the medal, not because he played a particularly bad game, but because I thought that Glenn Freeborn, Anthony Stevens and Corey McKernan all had more of an impact for the winners, and Daryn Cresswell played a great game for the losing Swans side as well (not that he was going to get it anyway when his team lost by 9 goals). I haven't seen that game again since 1996 though, so I could be wrong.

LMAO ... the Fat Porker is winning this poll and by a considerable margain ...

Cop that you feral Tassie Bradbury twerps.

lol? how the hell could you put Nathan Buckley in there?
That's just stupid.

Well not as a player, but on the day, Michael Voss should have won it, esp if they waited till after the siren to put the votes in, not 10 mins before the end of the game, which is more a problem with the current NS voting struture then anything ..

Still Bradbury's fatboy has to be the worst Norm Smith medalist by far IMHO.

Ahk, but im still not sure about that, it was between Buckley and Voss no doubt about it.

I tipped Archer before he was announced the Norm Smith medalist, but it could have gone to a few others.
Plugger was great that day too - 6 goals on Mick Martyn.

I posted this on the main board but people coming up with alternatives, so;

Will history judge Luke Hodge as the worst Norm Smith Medalist ever OVER HIS CAREER? Let's keep in mind there is a strong school of thought that he wasn't BOG anyway.
We all know he was very average in his first 3 years of his AFL career. his supporters claim OP, however is this a convenient excuse to hide his shortcomings.
He is slow, hopelessly one sided and has only looked comfortable in the easy role of unaccountable half back basically playing without an opponent.
If he cannot master having an opponent, after already having failed in the midfield; will he revert to a half forward flanker whose main role is to prevent truly creative players from setting up the play?

I think its a little too early to call, but the writing is on the wall.
He has been soundly beaten by Logan, Schofield, Carrazzo and Monfries in the last 4 games. Hardly household names.
Will we look back and say Hodge was the worst Norm Smith medalist over his career.
I acknowledge Embley is a rival. Embley, however played in a star studded midfield and at the time was rated very highly. The last few years may judge Embley harshly but we are yet to see Hodge play in a side bereft of quality midfielders as Embley now does. In fact quality midfielders is the reason Hodge can't get a game there. Mitchell, Sewell, Lewis, Tuck, Bateman, Ellis, McGlynn, Moss, Rioli and potentially Muston all are keeping Hodge out of the "Kitchen".

My nomination for worst thread ever, seriously you have no idea!

The Fact remains Embley had a better and more match winning influence in the 2006 GF then Hodge had for the Bradburys last year ..

What a stupid poll!

So many Norm Smith Medalists and you name 3 in a poll - What a joke!

And Hodge's norm smith game shat all over judds.

The poll is for BY THE END OF THEIR CAREER not just the one game.

To say Hodge won't be remembered as a better player than Embley & Dear at the end of their careers is absurd.

Actually that is true, but let us anti-Hawk fans indulge in bit of a troll (which is what this poll really is truth be told :D)

Personally I've felt for years it was another Hawk, Colin Robertson who was the worst Norm Smith medalist of all time.

You are probably right about that. Leigh Matthews should have won the norm smith that year.

Why are all Carlton supporters so insecure towards Hodge???
I would take him over Judd, at least you get loyalty with Hodge unlike Judd who follows the $$$$$'s
